Pit actually a little too juicy for me tonight at -180.

Let's take it to Winnipeg, where the Jets are -120.

    BOL tonight gents.

Funny you should ask Matt, I had a hand I was thinking about posting in your thread w Sweep but I don't want to clog that thing up at all man.

First off overall session +$158 in 16.25 hours. Normally less than $15/hour (I consider myself a 5x bb or better player after rake and tips, and I play 1/3) would annoy me more, but I was stuck $450+ at one point so it's not as annoying as it could be.

Check out this spot though. Ok background first. Two villians in this hand, the first we'll call villain 1. He looked like a nit, but was actually pretty donkish. I had previosly beaten him for a $300 all in in this session where I only had A10 on a 10 high board, and he had said he had the 2nd pair (the 9) and was chasing a draw. He had also tried to semibluff me pretty hard in that hand as well. I believed his story about just the 9 and the draw. Villain 2 is a reg that we think is pretty good, not great.

    So, our stack is $450+. Villain 1 about $350, Villain 2 $250.

We are the BB with K7 off suit and everyone limps. Flop K79 with two diamonds. Villain 1 raises to $15. Villain 2 calls. I repop to $40 hoping for action. Villian 1 makes it $100.

    Your move?

Answer is I shove, he snaps and Villian #2 tanks, says "Ace King?" and ALSO calls.

Villian #1 SNAP calls and I say do you have a set? He says "yeah, a set of kings".

I say, well I'm ****** then and he scoops us both up with his limped kings preflop. Villain #2 mucks.

But as a pro, we go with our reads, right? I don't see the donk play paying my top top A10 off as a bait and switch (which DOES happen, just not so much at the lowest level in any casino), just random weird play.

His best move? He did not play one hand after that. He took his $1,200 or whatever it was, went to the cage, and cashed out - as I'm sitting there like a stunned deer just trying to figure out what just hit me.

Thankfully later in that session two BLASTED dudes blasted into my pocket aces pre and post flop (albeit one had pocket kings) and got me in the green.

The K7 hand has me thinking though tbh. Should I blast there without a set? A lower set there and I can write that up as getting ****** by the poker Gods which is fine, it happens. But did I mess up there based on what I do and how I win.

That one is a real thinker to me.

I think my conclusion is nice play, bad break given the circumstances.

Cant dwell on hands, just be glad it was a profitable session, I generally blast with 2 pair of higher unless its top 2 pair on a rainbowed flop, but with the diamond draw id make a pot sized bet/raise.

Right, right, I always want more man, that's just me. It's kind of a personal thing actually because they say the best at any stakes should be 10x the bb. I've been at 3-5x BB (which again, after rake and tips not horrid). Now as a frequent night time grinder I've gotten more used to over pricing hands against draws (thus the blast) because at night no matter what stakes you're playing - a ton of recreational players are stopping by with their buzz trying to get a quick money pick me up on you and to duck out.

Fact is I want more from my bottom line but yeah I agree that based on information I had on Villain #1 leading me to believe he was easily worse than my hand and likely on a draw, I made the right play.

Luck - it's why they come back.

Thanks for chiming in, definitely cool man. I'm going to go take this buzz to drunk, talk to some dating site girls and go to sleep, 35+ hours of poker coming up the next two days man.

That's a really tough spot honestly. I don't see someone 4 betting without a set especially only 2.5x. I don't know, you block Ks and 7s, set of 7s being the most likely limp nutted hand there, so its hard to get away. I would personally flat the $100 and if a diamond comes on turn then you can get away from it. I don't like 5 bet shove flop because only sets and pair + flush draws call. There really aren't many 4 bet bluffs. He's not doing that with 7 9 and could have K 9 too.

If no diamond on turn, yeah its likely you go with it but I like the call $100 because then he could barrel off diamond draws if no diamond comes, realizing your equity more and you can get away from it if a diamond falls since set or flush will be there 90% of time.

One of the biggest leaks I see people make is calling off their stack and overplaying two pair. I've done it myself. As played you can't get away from it on the flop but if he had raised preflop, 4 bets you on flop, then yes I would actually consider folding, likely call $100 and if he shoves turn, likely fold. But him not raising preflop actually worked for him here.

Yeah he ****** me up w that limp. No way I could put him on Kings there.

That's one of my moves, lol.

Regardless, I should've folded. Like you said set for that much money there.

    And it's just that simple.

We are adding a future bet:

    Pittsburgh Penguins +1600

Too sexy of a price to pass up.

Sure Tampa will probably take it but do you think Syd and Malkin are done winning cups?

    I don't.

    Lol understandable position man, GL.

Actually holding off on poker until tomorrow. Some recruits to get back to, some ads to replace, laundry, blah blah.

When I'm on a bender I don't do shit lol.

Also hungover as fuk because I'm an idiot and I don't like going in feeling slow.

Eags Sunday is splash pots up to a fukkin thousand dollars at my joint man. Not sure if I should go in looking for a nice score or lay low for that. I hate the proposition of being all in with a premium hand vs 4+ donks with $100 and dog crap. Everyone buys in short for the splashes and it's annoying.

Leaning against it, will play it by ear.

I’ll let you know when I’m headed up there next time if so.

Splash pots are better when it’s like $50 or some amount that isn’t going to have people shoving anything. Definitely more advantage to short stacks which sucks.

In a way though, better than $1000 high hand and the 4-8 limit slot players winning 60% of them...they contribute nothing during non promo hours...

Yeah man big splash pots are a strange proposition and they scare me lol. They just make things so crazy and I hate losing at all.

I love high hand promos, especially when they're during drunk people hours but yes, limit and plo players get an advantage.

They've been including tourney players in some of them which I don't agree with, but I never hate on my joint.

It's a great place to play.
