I'd diversify but put the vast majority in BTC(maybe 50-75%).

then maybe like 5% on risky low priced dice rolls that you could potentially get a huge score from.

Not a bad idea to diversify and even take some shots. I took a shot on VEN, hasn't paid off but am holding for atleast 3 more months before I take some loss,

Sounds crazy to say, BtC is tame compared to some of these upstarts.

I'll say that BtC rebounds WED (Eastern time) to about $17,200.

From a 52yo with no idea where this is going but with a little bit invested and some interest in the whole thing I'd advise to spread 80% of it evenly between BTC, ETH, LTC and XRP. Maybe get a bit more adventurous with the other 20% if you want to speculate on other coins.
The thing is, I don't believe anyone really has any idea which of these coins is going to jump at any particular time. It's all speculation and confirmation bias whenever something happens that matches what someone has guessed at.
Nobody even knows what the lifespan of each of the main coins actually is, let alone the latest ICO.
I'm thinking there's probably still a few months of this speculation craziness in the main coins to be played out yet. Maybe 12 months even. People worried about missing out on this are going to keep the money pouring in for a while. BTC hitting $100k doesn't even seem ridiculous in this environment. With LTC being only 4 times as plentiful and quicker/cheaper to move you'd have to imagine that coin would continue to be attractive as well. Ripple's a bit of a different story with so much of it still held by its creators but that crazy leap yesterday about 23 seconds after I swapped mine for ETH kinda suggests that the investors and/or manipulators like that coin as well.
But let's face it. BTC isn't the future of crypto. It isn't going to be used for everyday transactions. It's possible that LTC won't be either. Whether it has some lasting utility as a store of value is something we'll find out, but I'm not sure anyone really knows if this will be the case 2,5,10 years from now.
I feel that crypto in some form will be the dominant global currency of the future if civilisation survives for another 50-100 years on the current path. I guess whatever currency is used or invented will need to be pegged to something like BTC? I'm no economist and I don't know how that works. Would like to learn more.
But anyway, I envisage a "universal wage" system at some time in the future, paid in crypto to everyone on the planet. If the value of that crypto currency is somehow tied to BTC then I guess BTC will continue to hold some value.
Whatever happens, this is all a transitory stage, and will remain so while these coins are being valued against fiat currency. If crypto is to survive and fulfill its intended utility, then eventually a $100 dollar bill will have the same value as a cancelled cheque or a cowrie shell, and saying 1 BTC is valued at $1,000,000 will be equivalent to saying it is valued at a pile of old newspapers.
    IMHO

The first crypto that gets sponsored by Amazon and Steam again is going to skyrocket in price.
Whether it be Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dash. Which seems to be consumer friendly with low transaction fees and faster transaction time. Steam let go Bitcoin because of high transaction fees and slow transaction time.
The Microsoft sponsor of IOTA was false, if it was real it would have been on the company's Twitter feed announcing partnership.

IOTA definitely botched that one. They came out and admitted no partnership today although they did have a meeting yesterday in Chicago and upcoming ones in Paris and Moscow with Microsoft.

Great post. Betting at Nitro is so risky.

Huge scaling, based on trying to win the bet AND watching the BtC price-swings. It's fun, tho.
