i just don't get why people play poker here to make money when they could just play on real poker sites. Maybe it's because the RNG here helps them?

Sbr for me provides a stress free environment to experiment angles that provide information for future plays either live or online. Furthermore, it brings a bunch of good people with a commune interest that later has developed in strong friendship outside the poker table.

I don't play cash games here much anymore, not even for rollover...have a bunch that are due to expire soon cause I've been busy elsewhere. Live poker fits into my schedule better these days.

Most play at SBR because it's the only format where they can show a profit, with the huge overpaying structure of dailies and allowing minimal rollover....it makes casual players feel good for participating (the main goal I'm sure), and nits who would barely break even with rakeback feel like poker gods when they can fold their way to cashes and see their name on a leaderboard. For most people, trying to play anywhere else they'd be outplayed...the exceptions are actually mostly the guys who routinely play ring games here, and they're mostly doing it for the camaraderie.

good point Trip. I'd be inclined to play the tournies here as well because all you guys are pretty cool here on the forum, but my chat doesn't work in the poker client! Once in a while I should stop by though, the games are fun and basically 50/50 pre with ATC.

Yes, of course, but not with SBR sportcash. For us is 5 dimes or bust, international players have no other options, no pizza no amazon cards, just sport cash.

Why is a thread about poker in the poker forum? Rest assured, those of us with IQs higher than your bra size understand what's going on, best to leave the thinking to us

Doesn't sound like it; he's just pointing out that he doesn't see much of a business reason for SBR poker to exist in its current generously-paying-out state. Ignition not being a sponsor, guys playing there would be no benefit for SBR.

SBR always wanted to grow poker, but never planned or marketed it very well. Other than a few small spurts, poker has always felt to be a little half assed. That's not knocking the FREE promotions, but we've been running the same format for about 8 years and poster feedback has been somewhat ignored. Back when SBR poker first began in like 2010, there were several sites with flourishing poker rooms. Not the case anymore. Rudy is right, on the surface right now there's not much of a reason to keep it around from an advertiser standpoint. It could draw people to SBR and sign up to be pro especially if SBR went all in on poker. I enjoy it even though I usually have no chance in most contests due to volume. There were some all timer ring games running back in the day

I have no doubt you're resting, sucking on the taxpayers teats...being retirded means it's not just your brain that sees little to no activity

Didn't think your bra size was up there yet, but that picture is a little old...I suppose there's no telling how much you might have swollen up on that government cheese

Yea SBR has a huge opportunity to become a major poker forum. They are the only poker forum that give away free money! Although you'll never take down 2+2 because all the pros post there too, you could easily get recreational players here

Having an opportunity to give away free money doesn't sound like a particularly good business opportunity, which is Rudy's point. There's stuff SBR could probably do to attract more casual and poker players, but it's pretty tough to make money when you can't take any directly without risking the US Feds taking notice and coming down on you.

If SBR did kick their poker up a notch and the benefit approached anything close to decent $/hour, you'd have a lot more non-casual poker players here competing a piece of it. The casual environment we have here works in part because it's closer to freeroll poker than cash games.

Another thing we've established: I or anyone else here from the US or most other countries could 'rest' all day long like you do if we simply refused to work and started sucking on the government teat like you do. It's not the lack of ability to 'retire' to welfare like you that keeps us from doing it; it's pride, ambition, ethics, and some other stuff you don't seem to know the meaning of.

Since I've never been on the welfare system, I never exploited it.

Good luck trying to prove otherwise though.

Riiiiight...that was some other bobbywaves asking about unemployment benefits. You've verified you're below poverty line and are willing to take subsidies for poor people like yourself, and it's all but certain you're on financial assistance as you seem unable to provide for yourself. Nothing wrong with that in and of itself; plenty of people need all the help they can get to make it in life, and you're clearly one of them. Your pride in being a drain on society, on the other hand, is contemptible

Hint: Peeps pay into unemployment insurance via their paychecks (refer to UI). So funds are available in case of a lay off, or an unfair firing. Do all peeps collecting UI payments also obtain food stamps (EBT)?

But thanks for demonstrating your ignorance yet again.

Unemployment benefits (depending on the jurisdiction also called unemployment insurance or unemployment compensation) are social welfare payments made by the state or other authorized bodies to unemployedpeople.
