I watched him speak earlier today....It saddened me.....An all-time great actor being treated the way he was......His step son is gonna have it coming to him in one form or another.

Mickey Rooney was angry and emotional as he asked a Senate committee in Washington on Wednesday to crack down on elder abuse. The 90-year-old Rooney told the Senate Special Committee on Aging that he was abused by a family member who took control of his life, and described feeling "scared, disappointed, yes, and angry."
He did not name the family member, but Rooney has a restraining order keeping his stepson, Chris Aber, away from him until an April 5 court hearing, reports AP. "You can't believe that it's happening to you," Rooney said. "You feel overwhelmed."
Shouting from the witness table, Rooney said, "I'm asking you to stop this elderly abuse. I mean to stop it. Now. Not tomorrow, not next month, but now!"
Rooney has accused Aber in court filings of withholding food and medicine and meddling in his personal finances. "Chris is verbally abusive toward Mickey," the court filing states. "He yells and screams at Mickey. He threatens, intimidates, bullies, and harasses Mickey. He is effectively a prisoner in his own home." Aber has denied the claims.
"For years I suffered silently. I didn't want to tell anybody. I couldn't muster the courage, and you have to have courage," Rooney said Wednesday. "I needed help and I knew I needed it. Even when I tried to speak up, I was told to shut up and be quiet."
Rooney's eighth and current wife, Jan Chamberlin, is the mother of Aber.
