Looks exactly like my male, except my boys bigger and a bit uglier, although that may be a female. Yep, nanny dogs...great with kids and very protective of them and the home.

Lab is really good. We have a black lab, good with young kid. Gets wild though, not in a mean way.

Id say get a british bulldog, one of the nicest dogs you'll ever meet. But since you said larger dogs, collies are pretty damn sweet too.

Haven't pulled the trigger yet. Still discussing with the Misses. Strong lean German Shepard... Just love em... But she is talking Cocker Spaniel... Uhmmm "No"... Currently in the stand-off mode... And nothing but time. Not gonna rush it. Thanks again for all the insight and recommendations. Greatly appreciated.

i have 2 siberian huskeys and for the most part they are great dogs.... at first they may be a handfull but once you get them trained they are very loving respectful dogs... one negative is they shed year long, and need plenty of exercise....

    1. Golden Retriever, 2. German Shepard. Also have had a Siberian Husky, but they are a little more work, because they are more independent and need to have alot more exercise.

english staffordshire bull terriers shite all over boxers for personality and love for family imo from dealing with friends who have had boxers. French bulldogs are not bad either, my relative has one and they seem pretty cool, but could suffer from health problems.

St Bernard...and more un-slefish dog has not been created...plus the size scares outsiders, without you fearing they'll actually attack

    German Shepherds

Good-looking, alert, loyal, intelligent, fierce only when the situation calls for it.

Border Collie, there is not a smarter dog imo

They need a fair bit of attention though. And you better have a yard.
