Who's your most dissapointed gifted athlete ever?

Mine is Vince Carter. The guy is easily one of the most talented Basketball player ever to step on the court(MJ, Kobe, Lebron) that never took full advantage of his talent to become a champion. Sadly, history will only remember as the greatest slam dunker ever, and thee player that saved team USA from embarrassment in the 2000 Olympics.

VC is a good choice. Mine is Bo Jackson, want his fault, it was because of injury, but I'm dissapointed I couldnt watch him play both baseball/football longer

I'm still holding out hope that VY pans out; he was so dominant at Texas.

I agree with the Vince Carter selection. He could have been great but stopped working on his game in the summers after that first big contract extension.

Another basketball player nominee for me would be Chris Webber. One of the most talented PF's ever but it feels like he should have had a better career. Both VC and Webber made a shitload of money over their careers so who am I to judge?

I think that I might agree with Vince Carter. His first couple of years in the league he was something else, now he's a just a poster child for what could have been.

I think C Webb made the best of his talented compared to VC. Webb carried Sacramento on his back, and the Kings should of won the whole thing if it weren't for that rigged Western conference Finals against the Lakers. He was never the same after that knee operation.

Being dominant in college doesn't mean shit. It's like saying a kid was dominant in rec league basketball so he should roll playing street ball in Harlem. It's an entirely different game and Vince Young not come around because it's clear to me he can't compete with best.

Yao Ming. If his knees and ankles didn't give out on him he would probably be the most dominate player in NBA history. When he was healthy he was unstoppable on offense and a beast on defense.

Maybe we can add Ken Griffey Jr to the mix. This guy was a phenom from 1989 to 1995, the most feared hitter during that time. After that, he just went down hill and never even played in one world series game. Surprisingly, he's still in the league 20 years later.

Griffey is retired. I don't know how you can say he was a disappointment. He hit 630 damn HRs, he'll be in the Hall of Fame.

He's not disappointing in the way that he didn't pan out talent wise, but he ruined some of the best years of his career by being a douche. He should have stayed a Viking for a long, long time. He got a chance to come back to a place that actually likes him this year and he continued to be a problem. If he could have stayed the course, he could have had more than just records in 2007, he would have shattered most of the receiving records by a mile. Now he's toxic and there aren't many teams in the league that will touch him at a time where he should still be having productive years.
