Best way to claim a huge payout...???

I've been playing the same sportsbook/casino for 10 years...losing most of the time, but I have received a few checks (via DHL...couple hundred dollars to $1,500 max). Again, I was probably down at least $15-20K over the past 10 years. Early this week, I hit a $1 progressive slot machine for $232,000. Never would have imagined that happening!
Instead of feeling good about this, I now am facing the challenge of tyring to move these winnings into the U.S. (Pennsylvania, specifically). I am not trying to evade paying the taxes on the winnings. I would be glad to pay the 40%! However, I don't want to be arrested/possibly jailed, or have all of the money be taken from our crazy federal government, just because I transferred money into my bank account from my offshore sportsbook/casino.
    ANY ADVICE?

    Who is JJ?
    This is no joke.
We all play/wager to win, but who ever expects to hit the grand salami? I've never thought twice about withdrawing $1-3K from a sportsbook acount. It's seamless. But what the shit happens when you hit the big one?

    sportsbook.com
Why would I transfer money into other sportsbooks? Seriously, I have talked to 2 lawyers since Tuesday. Both scared the shit out of me. Wiring the money could be considered wire fraud (fed law only), and mailing a check(s), could be considered mail fraud. WTF?

Does anyone know someone who had the great misfortune of winning a truck load?
I'm thinking slow playing this...2 small checks per month for the next f-ing 5 years (hopefully if no laws change, or sportsbook does not go out of business). Maybe a few gift cards as well.?

A guy who runs a fireworks business up here in PA said the same thing...Go down to collect your winnings in person. Same problem though, with the added problem of being shot/shivved. I come back with a check from Costa Rica. No red flags? And...there is no way to board a jet with cash money in your sac. It's as good as gone.
Maybe the "buy a pad" thought is the most sane. Do you know of anyone who did this, or are you pulling this from your arse?

Fly out there, collect in person, open an account at a major international bank, deposit the money, withdraw when you get home, problem solved.

Great question HenPrivlege. I'm not sure what that would be...I'm sure C.R. is full of casinos on the waterfronts...would you need documents from the casino?
THE ENTIRE PROBLEM WITH ALL OF THIS IS THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION from years ago, and the thinking that all money coming into the US is terrorist laced. Seriously, is anyone even still banking in foreign companies?

K9, my brother said the same thing. Do you know anyone that did this, or is it a shot in the dark? What would you do with over 200K in a stinkin' offshore casino account? It's like my legs are stuck in mud.

Set up 5-7 different bank accounts in your name. Have them send you checks for 3-5 K and wires from 7-9 K and also you can collect cash 1 K each ** or ** at a time. By the time you get these payouts it will be enough time in between that the banks won't think of anything shady. I will tell you this though. Sportsbook.com does have a stigma attached to them that they slow pay and sometimes don't pay. I personally hit a 18K parlay with them and they stiffed me for 85% of it stating that I abused their bonus program while was placing bets with them. They never told me anything until I hit it big. When I did they then proceeded to tell me I took bonuses at all their sister sites which was only 4-5 at the time and said I violated their rules. This book will find anything not to pay you pal. My story is on Sportsbookreview.com back in 2004.

Many people have much more than this in their accounts. Kara's advice is the best way to go about it. Best of luck.

Sportsbook.com is not gonna hand you over a check for 232,000.00. That is fvcking asinine to believe that.

Beat the Jerk, no they are not going to give me the full wad in one shot...100K max per month via wire. $2,500 max per check sent. They're not stupid either. Yes, they slow pay...I've been on that side of the fence once before with only an $800 withdraw. It literally took 4 months.
However, this is as legit as it comes. It was a progressive slot machine jackpot...I could not have taken advantage or abused their program. Besides not having money to cover it, how could they not pay it? I have seen other big jackpots hit there...who knows if they paid, or not, but it happens on a frequent basis (I believe).

Portage, fly to Basel or Zurich or Bern to open an account in Switzerland and transfer your money to swiss acct. Screw American banks. Whatever you do, avoid going to Costa Rica because you will die there. Many swiss banks have branches in New York. GL.

Polskboy, I am also Polish. Sportsbook has never left me down (via 1K or less). You may be right. I'll give you this problem to handle, pay you a handsome fee for a solution, but I also get one night with that hot POA in the picture with you. She's looking at you saying, "it's just one night...I'll be back tomorrow, and our lives will be better financially." Indecent Proposal (93'), you bastard.

pronk...maybe the best, and most difficult advice I've heard. Would you do the same? How easy it, as a layperson, to travel to any of those locations, set up an account, travel back, ask the book to wire your money there, travel to NY, withdraw money, and do what with the taxes.?
I agree with your Costa Rica statement. I couldn't imagine collecting down there on vacation without any strings attached.

As easy as 1-2-3. Any swiss bank will provide a plastic bank card for you just like any US bank. Use it as you wish. That's why so many rich Americans have bank accts in Switzerland.

as long as you don't wire the money your not comitting wire fraud are you? you need to get it in cash!!! Why can't they send certified check for 100k? Then declare it.

I think you need to speak to an accountant and a lawyer.

pronk, you have my attention. I will ask/check around for bankers/banks in Switzerland that would cater to US citizens. I'm still a little hesitant, being that I have no business being there (except to transfer money), but it may be the safest way to acually see my money.
pronk, let's say you win 1/2 a mil on your book/casino at some time in your life? Do you do the same, or do you begin panicking? It's easy to coach...harder to play in this situation.

purecarnagge, I have spoken with a tax lawyer and a public defender (still a lawyer, but a little weaker...lol) this week. Here's the problem: wire is 100K max per month, while getting a check is $2,500 max per send out (most likely 1 check per week). There is no way to get CASH. I'm not sure you can get it from any sportsbook/casino out there. Second, both lawyers stated that getting any amount of money in form of check offshore through the mail is MAIL FRAUD, especially if the fed sees that offshore gaming is illegal. This is true even if the check is coming from a processor in Nevada, or some other state. It is truly ****ed up! Now, both lawyers gave me options, of which they don't condone or want to be involved with, but they are so "gray" that you're head would spin.
Bottom line: It's better to keep losing with offshore gaming, and collecting little amounts if you do win something. Nobody cares then. But, I am in a postion of pure luck...and I see this from such an other side. I'm sure that people reading this are saying that I'm an ass, but there is no stress-free way of moving forward.
I only wish I hit the jackpot at an actual casino in Atlantic City or Vegas.

You bet, I would do the same thing in a hurry. You know, I've been to Europe many-many times: Italy, Austria, Germany, Holland etc. I've even visited Warsaw in Poland twice! I love that song Krakow by Marek & mysloviz.
