Egypt can be referred to as many things right now, but a tourist destination is not one of them.
That being said, I've been there before, and enjoyed myself. But right now, that place is a cluster f---, and not going seems to be your best bet
That's a pretty obtuse statement. The protesters are protesting their own government. The few Americans in the three cities where this is going on are media and couldn't be any safer.

I was in Egypt about a month ago... It is a different kind of place but it definitely is not anti-American...
The police is gone, they are famous for torturing people so they were the first ones out once the military moved in. The Military is supported by the US's generous 1 billion+ a year contribution. The military is just sitting around waiting for a new leader, they aren't going to be stopping any protesters from expressing themselves.
been to egypt 8x. they love americans there. they admire them. Just tell them you're from New York, or hollywood. they love those cities. egyptians are really nice people.
If you want Chianti and lots of Italian women don't go to Santorini. Santorini is in Greece...I am thinking Santorini.........

The only way I would go there would be if I got to carry my ar-15 around with me. I could take care of a few people with that.

My grandmother went there a few months back, had a blast...however, I imagine she would reconsider today!! You made the right decision! It's just a vacation, many other places, much safer places, will be waiting for you to enjoy some time off of work. Great decision, JMHO.

was there in 94 and 96. one of the nicest spots in the world. The beautiful Red Sea and never a cloud in the sky. oh how i miss that place. have fun and lucky you.. it was the best time in my life.. best memories everrrrrrrrrr
btw, why go in february.. it's cold there now. i was there in AUG where it's 104 deg each day..

It should still be warmer then it is here in England at the moment! There are a load of us going from the university I went to and is best time to suit all as we're all doing different things now, I'd of preferred to go in April during our Easter tho.
