On unemployment right now and moving in with my sister at the end of this month to save on expenses.

Times are tough now and I hope that work will pick up for me in the next few months......I'll be taking a couple of certification courses through my union to help make me more accessible to pick up work.

Unemployment money doesn't come from the government. Unemployment benefits in the United States are paid out of trust funds established by each state. These funds are funded by employer premiums. An employer's premium is determined by its past layoff/claims history and - the more people the employer has claiming unemployment over time, the higher the premiums paid. The employer pays the premium for each worker on its payroll.
So if you get laid off why not collect that money from your old employer.

I work for the "welfare Department" for my state, and have to see people who I went to school with who are now homeless. It's really odd, because usually you can just say "well if your jobless, its just because you dont want a job." That doesnt seem to be the case today. I know college educated guys who would love to get a job doing ANYTHING. Manual labor and fast food places wont hire them for fear that they will leave quickly due to finding another job...and there are no other jobs.

I couldn't live my life without working I don't know how you do it. Humans are made to create things even if I had all of the money in the world I wouldn't settle down and live happily ever after, that just wouldn't be me. People are made to create, design, manager regardless if they get money for it or not, couse they love to show their products to other people and get their reputation.

It's a sad fact that most people have jobs they don't even like, but they must work to stay in the game.

I also have enough money to live a life without working, but I don't use my right, instead I do what I like. It would also be unethical to live up everything my ancestors had collected.

I have to make more then my father and my son has to make more then me, that's the rule.

Obviously its only the internet but the sad part for you is that its the truth. And there really are people (such as myself) that do live the life that I do. Understood. I'm not satisfied with doing nothing all day while I know my family members, friend, and others are at work. I hope you didn't get the message that I sit all day at home and watch sports and pick my nuts and bet on them to top it off. Like I said, I do this for nothing more then a hobby. I know there are more then a few that use betting as their first income but the majority do it for the "thrill" and a second more risky type of income. I'm still young (if you call 31 young) and I'm thinking about opening up a restaurant with my brother some day. My wife still works as she loves her job and enjoys it and I don't see anything wrong with that like you mentioned. I stay home with the little guy during the day but as soon as he is old enough for school thats when I was thinking about doing something exciting.
