Here's one of the most underrated bands of all time... and the band I have listened to most in the last couple of years. They have dozens of songs that I love. This is just one of them.

Some of you might know MetallicA's version of this song which is quite good. The original version came out in 1973! Can you believe that! Tell me this song doesn't kick your ass!

This one's from 1994. It never got much radio play that I can remember. This song rocks!

First off... great Big Star song Brock! One of my favorite bands of all time, The Replacements were HEAVILY influenced by Big Star. They even wrote a pretty good song about it called Alex Chilton(Big Star frontman). Good stuff.

For dzzznutz, a buddy of mine turned me on to Jane's Addiction around 1988 or so. I thought they were great! The stuff they were doing back then was incredibly original at the time. I truly believe that they had a huge influence on the music to come in the next few years. A couple of friends of mine and myself saw the Nothing's Shocking tour at a small venue around the same time. It was killer! One of the best shows I have ever been to for sure. Here's one of the songs that they played at the show. Check this out Brock... you might like it... you might not know this song. Tell me this song isn't great!

We have very similar music tastes. I grew up a head banger in the late 70's, 80's and early 90's as well. Best damn music. No AC/DC though? Also, "And Justice For All" was an incredible Metallica album plus all their shit before that with Cliff. Keep on ridin' the lightning. Thanks for the memories.

MetallicA is my favorite band of all time. Although I don't listen to them that much anymore. And ...And Justice For All... probably had more influence on me than any other album in the history of my life. Some of the old die hard MetallicA fans probably haven't listened to a "new" song by MetallicA in 15 plus years. Their last album Death Magnetic was quite good in my opinion. Here's a song from that album that I really like.

Death magnetic was their best album since the black album...easily in their top 3 or 4

True about Metallica. I didn't even buy the Black album but really liked "Sad but True".

I could watch the Flight 666 DVD over and over. Up the irons!

For instance, if it wasn't for the band Anthrax I probably never would have read a Stephen King book. Getting back to RUSH, I remember hearing an interview with Neil Peart and he was talking about the influence that Ayn Rand had on him. My SBR name "John Galt" is from an Ayn Rand novel. I can't say that Neil Peart specifically turned me on to Ayn Rand but I'm sure he had a small part in it. For anyone that hasn't read any Ayn Rand and you are believer in Freedom and Liberty and Individualism in general I highly recommend that you check her out. Anthem is a good book to start with. Anyway, RUSH is probably favorite 3 piece band of all time. Their talent is amazing.

Holy shit!! I can't believe this is on YouTube. This was my best friend from High School's band from the early to mid 90's. I doubt anyone will like this. This is PUNK. Not like Green Day punk. Real PUNK! I think it kicks ass!
