Is the Shrink pulling off the biggest move in forum history ?

"Weitzner, who resides in Chesapeake, Virginia, has not been the subject of any news reports out of that region as of Saturday night. No reports of a house being blown up or car accident killing both he and his wife."

I pay respect to those who pass I knew Ken and I wish him the best regardless , I am just confused as to what is going on .

A guy gets blown up or dies in a car accident with his wife....and there isn't a single news source to confirm it?

    Yeah----ummmm, he ain't dead.

A story like that gets reported even in the smallest of towns in this country.

And what-----no obit? No one in his entire family would be thinking of an obituary?

    I agree
it seems something is just not right with this whole thing
wonder if he is in the witness protection??
Or maybe he just wanted to disappear for a while after what happened last week with the arrests

This just in from Sandy, a reporter at the Outer Banks Sentinel in or around Ducks, NC.

I gave her the EOG front page story and links to threads at EOG and OGD.

Police departments here say they don't have a clue what these folks are talking about. I also checked www.pilotonline.com which is the Virginian Pilot which covers Chesapeake where I understand that he lives - nothing there either - that is only about 50 miles from here so someone would know if it was an accident between here and there.

kinda early for this speculation, but I can understand why people are doing it....even if it is a bit insensitive...but what the hey its the internet...

but if it was the "witness protection program"...... wouldn't they be smart enough to make sure, that there was a "story" that made it to press that matched all that was being said here? or does it not work that way...... do people just disappear, and no "cover" story is produced?

Why? He would have to come out and testify at some point. Why say he passed, if he didn't?

    My Position is

Let's wait until the FACTS surface. You don't have to fake your death to go into witness protection. You simply disappear.

If this turns out to be untrue I feel sorry for the psychological pain that will ensue as it is clear that many are suffering from the loss. Ken was like family to Mo and many at EOG and I believe, or hope, he wouldn't do that to individuals who considered him family.

not my theories or conspiracies...and as always these kinda theories don't add up....

the other idea is, that he knew he was gonna get busted for some dirt....so he is trying to "disappear" to avoid jail

Sports gambling ring indictment cites six locals
    By Michelle Hunter, The Times-Picayune
    April 07, 2010, 8:44PM

A 2004 State Police investigation into illegal bookmaking by one of their own culminated Wednesday in the federal indictment of six locals accused of running a gambling business through a Costa Rican-based offshore betting service.

Ashley Perry, 33, and Shane Muscarello, 37, both of Metairie; William Bryant III, 39, and Craig Goodwin, 49, both of Kenner; David Theriot, 45, of Covington; and David Carazo, 40 of Mandeville, were formerly charged Wednesday with the operation of an illegal gambling business, according to U.S. Attorney Jim Letten's office.

"Illegal gambling is a crime we take seriously in Louisiana," said Col. Michael Edmondson, superintendent of the State Police. "Through an investigation initiated by our department and through a cooperative effort with our federal partners at (U.S.) Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Internal Revenue Service, we have identified a complex, organized criminal enterprise."

One of the defendants, Bryant, worked for the New Orleans Hornets in the sales department. A spokesman for the team said Wednesday that the organization was notified by federal authorities that the illegal activities do not involve the Hornets.

The defendants are accused of taking bets on various sporting events - baseball, football and horseracing - and running an online casino using the website www.seeyouontop.com, according to court records. The group, directed and supervised by Perry and Muscarello, made monthly payments of $35,000 to $47,000 to the Costa Rican betting service, which maintained the website and employed staffers to answer telephone calls and accept bets, records said.

While customers placed bet on the website or via telephone, the defendants took in money or paid it out to the local winners or losers. The group took 10 percent on top of all losing bets, court records said.

A 71-page indictment lays out the case State Police and ICE built against the defendants using undercover officers, informants, surveillance work and telephone taps.

The investigation began in 2004 when State Police began probing a tip that veteran trooper Warren Ayo Jr. was a bookie who took bets out of his St. Bernard home and his office, the Metairie headquarters of the Gulf Coast High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Unit, court records said. Ayo was later arrested, but troopers learned that he accepted bets online at www.thetinytuna.com, a betting website traced to servers in Costa Rica, records said.

A 2007 investigation by the Louisiana Attorney General's Office into "The Tiny Tuna" revealed Muscarello's involvement. He was eventually arrested and the Web site shut down. Authorities say its replacement, www.seeyouontop.com was created soon after. They learned of the new site as well as Muscarello and Perry's involvement from an informant who owed Perry $10,000 in lost wagers, court records said.

State Police troopers began conducting surveillance on the pair and listened to taped telephone conversations with the other alleged coconspirators.

Perry and Muscarello directed things, Goodwin was described as a runner who recruited gamblers, collected money and arranged for bettors to get internet accounts and passwords, according to court records. Theriot was seen meeting often with Perry, handling paperwork and money. Bryant was another runner who collected wagers.

Perry and Muscarello are accused of traveling to Costa Rica in 2006 and 2007 to personally drop off payments to the service's managers.

But authorities say that it was Carazo who later begin representing the Costa-Rican betting service as money courier, court records said. Investigators later learned that law enforcement officials probing offshore betting in New York had identified Carazo as the Gulf-Coast-area courier for the organization, making pick-ups and delivering payoffs in Louisiana and Alabama. In fact, officers in Hoover, Alabama, seized a $150,000 payoff Carazo made to one bettor in February.

Letten's announcement of the New Orleans' indictment coincides with charges of illegal offshore gambling filed Wednesday by the Organized Crime and Rackets Division of the Queens County New York District Attorney's Office against 49 defendants.

If convicted, each of the Louisiana defendants faces up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.

His "going away" post is very fishy, just have to wait for more details

I Will Be Away For Awhile...

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My wife and I will be going away for a trip. While we are gone, I have asked mofome to be in charge of the day to day operations of EOG....

I know it's the start of the slow season for many, including Yours Truly...

I won't be posting while we are gone...

It seems like EOG keeps getting better each day with so many new posters adding to the wealth of information that we already have from our old-timers..

It's nice to know I can leave with people like Blondie, Ballwonder, Jimmy Hoffa, and diogee, amongst others to help out...

I feel like this place has always been a second home for me because of ALL OF YOU...

Thanks from the bottom of my heart....

I am grateful to be a part of this Family and for all the support,

    P.S.

1 down and 2 to go baby...

Now let's win the remaining 2 Baseball games I gave out on WW, so I can start out with a nice winning record in Baseball!!

    Ken
