It’s amazing how many guys still don’t realize how rigged these games are. Until people realize this, they will continue to be losing gamblers

It’s Tim Donaghy…but yeah he isn’t/wasn’t the only one. He just got a massive payout for not snitching on the other ones…I mean Scott Foster is another obvious one

How's that age old gag go again?

The only difference between the NBA and WWE, is WWE admits it's rigged.

David Stern had a friend in the FBI that tipped him off and Stern was able to get ahead of the investigation. It's in the documentary on Netflix

    I'll re-ignite a Conspiracy theory:

*Michael Jordan off the 3-peat: decides to sit out two years to play Baseball.

COME ON. Put two and two together. Way I see it:

*Jordan was known to be a big gambler, even to an irresponsible level. It goes back to his insane thirst for competition. He would bet on golf, he'd probably bet on anything.

Guy had money and wasn't exactly a Wall Street financier. Is it a stretch to think he bet on NBA?

I'm not saying he was fixing. If anything, he was laying "BULLS -5".

Stern and others knew that this was dangerous. You run up a red-figure...and the bookie OWNS you. He can get you to lay down for a game.

BACK-ROOM DEAL: 2-year ban. Go play baseball, and come back then. Problem drifts away, never happened.

Lol, this is actually crazy. Can't recall seeing anything this blatant.

Even if they want to say it's not proof of betting, it's proof of bias. NBA can't be too happy with a ref displaying that to the world so clearly. Dude needs to work on his poker face

Fix was certainly on. Dirty Ref couldn't blow the whistle fast enough to even save that game.

He just gave up and left us all with the dirty look. LOL..

Still trying to figure out what part of the game this was when Butler scored? Has anyone zeroed in on what it was? Qtr O/U? Qtr side? Prop wager?

I don't think anything happened. The ref took a deep breath and turned at the same time to run towards the basket in case there was a quick pass for a layup or dunk. You guys are putting too much emphasis on his facial expression.

You don't put that face on unless you got money riding.

Potential rig job in play if the game remained close. Ref was on it and ready to blow that whistle on ghost calls for sure!

Interesting late game finishes to say the least. Last night with Nuggs up 5, they get the steal, could have easily been a reach in foul as they dribbled out the clock but no call. I've seen that reach called many times but this one literally kept Denver from covering...

I don't think the clip revealed a damn thing. There's really no context for starters, and you're all watching it in slow motion. If you slow down every passing second of any event I'm sure you can comb through and find more than a few frames in which you could project some erroneous emotion/motive onto a person.

A bunch of amateur sleuths on the internet spotting a ketchup stain and concluding murder is all I see here.

Furthermore, the seed of corruption was already planted in your mind so your deductions are undoubtedly colored with confirmation bias.

For example, how much differently would the replies be in this thread based on the following two title options?

    1. Look at the disappoint from the ref in last nights game...

    vs.

    2. Watch this official head back up court to officiate on the other end...

That's why I bet 1st half only quite frequently to avoid crap like that. In this case, it benefited me since I had Lakes +6, but I got burned on a few last second calls in the playoffs already and in the NCAA tourney too. I had the under in a few games and they called some ticky tack foul with under a second left and brought the game over on me. I'm still owed a few more my way like last night. Sometimes they call that last second crap and sometimes they don't. And, it impacts the outcome every time when its close to the total or side.

Bro, I am not seeing it. What is your imagined "context" to explain why the ref makes that exact disgusted face looking at the ball the instant it goes in? Did he spot his wife being humped in the distance, at the exact same viewing angle? Was she possibly suspended in mid-air?

I'm probably one of the people on SBR who argues against conspiracy theories the most, but this is just laughably obvious

Dafuq are you talking about? I'm referring to context in regards to game situation at the time of the Butler bucket. How did this possibly affect an alleged bet? The game outcome wasn't even close to the spread or total so I'm not sure how a single basket would ruin this official's evening.

But I digress. This "look of disgust" is completely subjective. I can see how one might interpret that look as such, but to me it looks like the ref is merely blinking and turning to head towards the opposite end of the court, like anyone would on a change of possession. Like I said, this video is being scrutinized in slow motion so a mundane blink can have the appearance of something much more dramatic than it really is.

For the record I'm not even arguing against the idea that games are manipulated. I'm just saying this video reveals nothing and this thread is a bunch of group think nonsense akin to seeing shapes in the clouds because someone said "hey look, that's a rhinoceros."
