Well, I'm like mid 50's and I'm going out. I'm not going to the rave to be the creepy old guy in the corner. Just a few hours of pounding down a few drinks and maybe a few bowls in the parking lot with the people I employ to help me pump slurry all over the world. Yes I pay, so that is why the employees come out. We're not woke so whatever happens doesn't matter they will all still have jobs on Tuesday when they get back.

I paid $285 for a full thanksgiving spread at whole foods this year - I get a full cooked honey baked ham, full cooked turkey, all the sides, mash and gravy, pies, etc. I wasn't cooking this year. This will feed 6 people but it's probably gonna be just my old mom, nef and his wife and myself this year.

Not cheap.. Everything is more expensive this year!

Should look something like this tomorrow on my dinning table

Come on fella, do it yourself.

This is how the magic begins.
Thaw the turkey for a day.

    [IMG][/IMG]

While the turkey is thawing start on the deserts, cookies and pies...

Multi tasking like a bunny rabbit, start on the other side dish casseroles.

That's how you do it Nasher. In my view, the doing it yourself aspect is an integral part of the tradition.

Myself, I am in charge in of the turkey and pumpkin pie. I took it out of a wet brine this morning, patted dry and have it sitting uncovered in the fridge to start to dry out the skin. I'll season it up and inject it with a duck fat based flavoring before putting it in a master built turkey air. The air fryer is great because I can do it on the patio and gets me away from the chaotic kitchen scene and also frees up the oven for other people to do their thing. Only costed 90 bucks too. The pumpkin pies are homemade using my own home grown small pie pumpkins. They yield a superior flavored pie that can't be matched by a store bought pie or homemade pie using canned puree .

    @Foxx

That's what I'm talking about my man!
You get a certain satisfaction watching the family wolf down seconds and thirds of your own creations, while Tessie Dog is begging for any scraps at all.

Makes standing on your feet over an oven and stove top for twelve hours worth the effort.

Who are you putting your money on anyways, some third world country line cook at Boston Market, or yourself?
I'm in it to win it, and I bet myself to win it eight ways to Sunday.

I'll make room for two more for desert, yourself and Daggles, because when it comes to food, DDD is in it to win it as well.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, and as per usual, may all you wagers be winners.
    Peace.
