I guess it wasn't all that important. LOL. He said, oh shit, not Uncle Fester and his opinion. He will just say they're all being zapped by 5g towers now. LMFAO

In the city, is it doable without a car. I am thinking of coming there for 4-6 months. Looking to stay in one of the new high rises downtown, let me know, thanks!

Yes, you'll be fine. It truly is really safe in downtown areas and has gotten better in downtown in recent years. They were trying to have it make a comeback and put alot of coin into there. You can get your Uber rides, etc. Lots of ways of transportation down there.

If you decide to go there, then PM me and I can list a bunch of places you should check out. Like restaurants, and a classic bar that is Irish. I'm sure moneyshot knows where I'm talking about.

There is an above ground tram that goes around a portion of the city called the "People Mover". I have to tell you, I have no idea if that thing still runs or not. I really never pay attention. You have 3 major casinos, Greek Town (best food around too at restaurants nearby the casino), MGM Grand, and then Motor City is a little bit away from downtown.

For your safety, don't go to Motor City unless you're with someone or be very "aware" of your surroundings. That's where I hear of people getting jumped. However, its usually in the parking garage.

If you stick to the downtown you will be fine. Venture away inside Detroit, maybe not.

If you bring a Vietnamese woman that is a 8-10 over here for me to meet and greet, then I will potentially be your tour guide. LMFAO.

Moneyshot (check in Moneyshot) can add some things here too he might even know it better than I since I'm normally to the casino and home. Sometimes eat in Greek town, but I don't move around much of Detroit these days.

I’m coming by myself until Vietnam opens up. What is the area I want to be in where I can walk to stores and in a centralized area. High rise buildings. I’m not looking to do much , relax and desensitize from stress. Hang out in the city, see what’s around there. I just need to know the name of the area I want to be in. Thank you!

I knew a biscuit that stayed at The Park Shelton. You can't go wrong there. Right in the middle of it. Stay along the river. Marina District preferably. So search in Marina District. But go for The Park Shelton first. Its going to be more expensive than most other places but its got all the best features. Look it up!

I had some friends that owned a condo right on the Detroit river. I think they sold it though. Lost touch! But they loved it there! Never had any problemos!

Out of all the cities in the US...why Detroit? Nothing against it (downtown was cool the times i've visited)...just curious.

I’ve always been curious about it. It’s just short term. Thinking of other places too.

You pretty much nailed it. I still wouldn't ever be caught living in downtown Detroit. I don't see the value in it.

Curious about how it feels to get shot? Detroit is a cesspool and downtown Indy isn't much better. I'm in Indy and would walk my girlfriends dogs downtown on a Sunday morning and find condom wrappers, shell casings, and needles. Who needs that shit? Even after sex it was hard to sleep thru sirens & ambulances and the motion detector lights going off & on. I'm a suburban guy. I don't deal with any downtown bs except go to a game and go back home!

I'd go for Cincinnati if you want to try the American Midwest. Its a cool town right on the water! Its hilly too.....not flat and boring AF like Indy.
