    The 60's was a time of division in the USA. Most young people embraced marijuana use and eventually the business nerds slowly got stoned. Soon ties would fall completely out of favor by the "anti-establishment".

    For instance when the early Beatles got their start, they had to agree to wear jackets and ties to get gigs like the Ed Sullivan TV show. Soon after their rocket to stardom the Beatles shed the jackets and ties because they could. They were now calling their own shots.
