Imagine if everyone with the last name Johnson was a slave
Imagine a world where from 1619 to 1865 everyone w the last name JOHNSON was a slave in one section of the country but a civil war ended the slavery however in 2020 over 150Y later there were ppl still waving the flag that represented the slavery? Do u think ppl w the last name JOHNSON would be a little angry today? I advise anyone who doesn't get this, to insert their own last name in place of JOHNSON and see how it feels. They'll get real quiet real quick

Mike you're talking apples a d oranges. Keeping concentration camps as historical landmarks and museum does not equate with flying Confederate flags with pride all over the south.

You cant compare the Confederate flag to the Nazi flag. One represented a fight for self independence, the other suppression of free thought and tolerance.
To outlaw or be upset about the Confederate flag is to fail to understand blacks had no rights under the Union flag either.
If I have a business (nascar for instance) and I dont want your flag flying, guess what, it's not going to fly.

It's an expression of the idea of the CSA to some, the Virginia military to others, to states rights to some and to a more sophisticated caste society to others.
Nascar can cease flying them at their events, their fans still will...we all know that, and there's nothing Nascar is or can do to stop it short of stopping admission to events. There's still gonna be guys showing up in their version of the General Lee, chicks wearing tight shirts w CSA flags on it...it's their culture and heritage and what they believe in.
Trying to exclusively link the Confederate flag to slavery is ridiculous, same with that statue argument...it would be akin to saying "let's level the pyramids too, they were built by slaves as well" or "let's tear down the Coliseum because slaves fought in there".
The continuation of this debate and argument about history, context and "feelings" get dumber and dumber the more the left stretches it's premise to include comparisons to Nazis now and supression of ideas, which ironically is what National Socialism is at it's most basic point.

Banning things, ideas and contact is oppression. It's naive to think you've bettered your life by "erasing the imagery as you see it" of oppression by imposing the shackles of another form of oppression.
Slavery occurred under the Star and Stripes as well as the Union Jack; should those flags be banned too?

I like she referenced past community situations where black home ownership and store ownership was self sustaining. That's what we need, that's who should be black community leaders and voters.
I didn't understand her reference to "they burn it down" or "they dont like it and change the rules" when referencing her playing theoretical monopoly. "THEY" would be (in Minnesota) a DFL gov, 2 DFL senators, a DFL us rep, a DFL council and DFL mayor and black DFL police chief? NYC DiBlasio and Cuomo....Seattle black woman police chief and Democrat female mayor and council?
That's where this movement loses my attention. Black Americans vote 90% lock stock for Democrats and live in one party cities. This woman has no point of view to contrast her convictions yet references conservative ideals, but likely would rather shit in her hands and clap than cast a vote for a GOP member.
As to the economic situation of black Americans...I've got 14 payday and cash advance shops. Let's just say the black woman doesn't shop very smart, the black male doesn't prioritize. When you spend $800 / mo at the gas station for groceries that would cost $500 at WalMart you've got a self created issue.

Washington had 300+ We got some money to change and a capital to re-name and a state.....streets, schools etc.
Jefferson had 600+ slaves. There is the declaration of independence that needs some white out....no pun intended.
Madison, Monroe, Jackson, Grant......a lot of history to clean out of the school books.

Of course you can compare the Nazi flag to the Confederate flag. Obviously, they represent very different ideologies, but just as you can't really disassociate the Nazi flag from the persecution of the Jews among other atrocities, I don't see how you can divorce the Confederate flag from the centuries long enslavement of millions and a war fought to protect that heinous institution.
Regarding the Union flag you mentioned , although blacks were systematically oppressed under that flag as well, under that same flag, slavery was abolished and civil right expanded democratically.
I staunchly agree that private display of whatever flag shouldn't be outlawed. However, I can certainly see why it upsets people.
Anyone acting entitled or butthurt over someone else flying a flag needs to deal with that outrage themselves.
It's a snowflake attitude saying which ideas/symbols/flags should be policed. And is the main cause of the division. Pandering to the PC crowd.
Sure, ban govt institutions from honoring people or things if the community wants that... but keep yer damn thought police away from my personal ideas and opinions pal.
