    Dunkirk is real good

The Vietnam War by Ken Burns, while not a movie, is outstanding. It’s like a 11 part documentary.

I’m partial to Full Metal Jacket because that really is how we were treated in boot camp in the 60s and 70s. There is no way to describe the fear/hate you experience as 17-19 year old kids unless you went through it

I enjoyed Stalag 17 quite a bit at the theater when it first came out.

A lot of good ones mentioned already.

The Deer Hunter is another that has to be on any top 10 list.

Also I’m sure someone mentioned The Great Escape, but that’s another that would be high on my list.

Both movies have the same director, she was married to James Cameron at one point.
