Multiple Depts Caught Not Only Ignoring Rape Kits, But Destroying Them With No Investigation

Plymouth, MN — Illustrating the careless and utterly ineffective nature of many police departments in the United States is the fact that rape kits go untested from coast to coast. However, one recent and particularly egregious case out of Minnesota shows just how brazen police can be in ignoring rape victims. Police in Plymouth, Minnesota aren’t just ignoring the rape kits, they are destroying them without investigation.

For those who may be unaware, after being raped, victims are subject to more humiliation by having to undergo DNA evidence testing in the form of a rape kit. Thinking that this will help catch their abuser, most victims undergo these tests.

When one woman — who wishes to remain anonymous — walked into the Plymouth police station after being brutally raped, she underwent this humiliating experience in an attempt to catch her rapist. After providing the rape kit, she assumed police would investigate it.

However, they did not. Not until nine years later did this woman find out police never sent the kit to the lab and instead destroyed it. As a result, the rapist went on to beat and rape many more victims. He would eventually get caught in Colorado and now sits in jail. But this predator could’ve been caught years earlier had it not been for these criminally negligent cops.

“They could have stopped him,” said the woman. “But I went through all of that for nothing. That is the worst feeling in the world.”

According to a report out of KARE 11, this woman is not alone and departments across the state have destroyed hundred of kits.

"Even though Minnesota recently received a $2 million federal grant to DNA test the state’s backlog of thousands of untested rape kits, a KARE 11 investigation has found that more than 220 kits will never be tested because they’ve already been destroyed.

Overall, police agencies across the state destroyed more than 450 rape kits in unsolved and uncharged cases. Legal experts told KARE 11 it would be almost impossible to bring charges in a case involving a destroyed rape kit.

Regardless of whether it was tested, due to the wording in a state law passed 20 ago, KARE 11 discovered that destroying a rape kit likely starts the statute of limitations on when a case can be prosecuted. That can keep victims in the cases from ever seeing justice, even if new information surfaces."

“What you’re discovering is that these statutes of limitations are going to be a detriment to victims because somebody destroyed the kits,” said DFL Rep. Kelly Moller.

History shows that when these kits are investigated, rapists are caught. It’s that simple. So, the negligence and complacency in refusing to investigate these rape kits borders on criminal behavior, especially considering what happens when police actually investigate them. As TFTP reported last year, lawmakers across the country have set out to shift the “culture” of ignoring rape kits—and it is working.

New York City District Attorney Cyrus Vance has helped to allocate $38 million in funding to help 20 states process previously untested rape kits.

As a result of this movement, according to law enforcement officials, more than 1,000 arrests and hundreds of convictions have been made from testing the backlog of kits going back months, years and, in some cases, decades.

According to the AP, the Justice Department has also allocated $154 million to help in clearing the backlog of kits as well.

Until this policing for profit paradigm shifts, we can expect to see other massive backlogs continue to pile up and be destroyed. Sadly, law enforcement in America often chooses profit over people. Tens of thousands of raids on people for suspected illegal substances take place every year, while hundreds of thousands of rape kits collect dust in police departments across the country.

If you were murdered today, there’s only a 60% chance of police catching the person who did it. That number drops to 3% if you’re raped. 50 years ago, that number was much higher. What happened?

The answer to that question can be found by looking at where police allocate much of their time and resources.

Civil asset forfeiture pays. Busting low-level drug dealers by the dozen and confiscating their drugs, guns, cars, houses, and money pays. Writing tickets for victimless crime pays. Pulling you over for window tint, seat belts, arbitrary traveling speeds, and expired license plates; these are the things that pay—not solving crimes

Sadly, however, it has taken hundreds of millions of dollars in incentives for police to finally prosecute these actual criminals and the victims who attempt to hold them accountable are still being ignored.

“I’m shocked, and nothing around the lines of sexual assault cases should shock me anymore,” said DFL Rep. Kelly Moller, a prosecutor who has worked on sexual assault reform in the legislature. “It is very upsetting to know that these kits have been destroyed and really eliminating the chance for justice for these survivors.”

Victim, ex-cop reach settlement in civil suit over alleged rape

KALAMAZOO, MI — A woman who sued a former Covert Township police officer over a 2016 rape allegation will be awarded more than $100,000 following a settlement finalized Jan. 30 in federal court.

Former officer Erich Fritz, who pleaded no contest to a charge of unlawful imprisonment in a related criminal case in 2017, had the federal civil lawsuit filed against him dismissed with prejudice as a result of the settlement in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, according to court documents.

The plaintiff in the case, Melissa McMillan, will be awarded a total of $105,000 by Fritz and Covert Township, according to McMillan’s attorney Nicolette Ward, and the other two attorneys in the case.

In July 2016, McMillan was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over by Fritz. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for drunken driving.

Fritz, prosecutors alleged in the case, then took McMillan to a hotel room, and later a second one, and raped her on three separate occasions on the night in question.

In the federal lawsuit filed July 2, 2018, McMillan claims she was subject to “unwanted sexual advances, harassment and assault” in violation of the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Civil Rights Act. She also claimed 14th Amendment violations, based on the same allegations of harassment.

McMillan, who said she was so drunk she didn’t even remember leaving a South Haven bar prior to the traffic stop, said after Fritz dropped her off at the second hotel, she passed out and later woke up “dumbfounded" with Fritz “on top of her” performing unprotected sex.

It was also stated McMillan was so drunk that night she urinated on the passenger seat of the car she was riding in when Fritz pulled the vehicle over, and that Fritz was aware the seat was wet and why. After McMillan was in his car, Fritz turned off his in-car camera and audio within 90 seconds of pulling away from the scene, the complaint states.

Fritz, who had only been a police officer in Covert Township for two months when the incident occurred, resigned within two weeks of the incident after criminal allegations were levied against him in 2016

The former township officer later accepted a plea deal in a criminal case, pleading no contest in June 2017 to a lesser charge of unlawful imprisonment. As part of the agreement, charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping were dropped.

Fritz was sentenced July 17, 2017, in Van Buren County Circuit Court to one year in jail and five years of probation.

During the sentencing, Fritz apologized for offering her the hotel room, but did not apologize to her for anything else.

The township’s attorney, Gus Morris, also maintains the township, which was named in the suit for “failing to properly train its personnel,” did nothing wrong. Morris said if Fritz, who is no longer allowed to be in law enforcement, had a criminal record he never would have been hired in the first place.

Morris went on to say there was no amount of training that would have prevented Fritz from committing the crime of unlawful imprisonment because he made the choice to do it. He said he was confident the township would have won its case, “but the insurance company elected to settle the case to forego the cost of further litigation.”

“I feel you did not get the full punishment you deserve but your friends, family, the public and most importantly you will know what you did," he said. "You will never be a police officer again and for that I’m grateful.”

The settlement funds paid to McMillan, Morris said, will come entirely from the Michigan Township Participating Plan, which serves as an insurance market for 1,300 members in the state.

"I am a Cincinnati police officer if that makes any difference." (Nope)

"Regardless, I'm not going to charge you for the gun." (BS Blue line gang member privilege)

Cincinnati cop busted for drunk driving: ‘Does it help that I am a police officer?’

A sloshed Cincinnati police captain allegedly tried to talk her way out of DUI charges by asking an arresting officer if it helped that she’s a fellow cop, according to a report.

Capt. Amanda Caton, 55, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated early Sunday in Loveland, where an officer pulled her over as she drove with her husband, Patrick, who is also a cop in Cincinnati, according to a police report obtained by the Cincinnati Enquirer.

“Does it help that I am a police officer?” Amanda Caton allegedly asked in a slurred voice, according to the report.

Caton, whose eyes were allegedly glassy and bloodshot, then handed over her police ID card and confirmed that she had a firearm in her purse. An officer told Caton to lock the loaded gun in her trunk, but she instead handed it over to the Loveland cop, police said.

Caton’s husband, who was sitting in the passenger seat, proceeded to hold up his police badge before becoming irate that the cop wasn’t letting the fellow law enforcement officers go, the arrest report alleges.

The arresting cop explained to the pair that Caton “reeked of alcohol” and that he could not “just let them go,” as she had failed a sobriety test — after initially declining to perform one because she had heels on, police said.

The officers finally offered to give Patrick a ride to his nearby home, but he said he wouldn’t accept a lift from “you guys,” then left the scene under threat of arrest, police said.

Cops later took Caton to the Loveland Police Department, then back to her home. Once there, an aggressive Patrick allegedly continued confronting the officers, according to the police report.

“Be sure to tell your moms that you met real cops tonight,” it quotes him as saying.

In 2003, Patrick was fired by Cincinnati police after he was acquitted for assault in the 2001 death of Roger Owensby. He was one of three cops accused of beating and choking the man, who later died from his injuries. The lieutenant was later reinstated and awarded $200,000 back pay, the newspaper reports.

Cincinnati police declined to release additional information regarding Caton’s arrest, citing a pending criminal matter.

‘Call a Crackhead’? Georgia Cop Busted for Possession of Meth

Madison County, GA — There is a saying among police officers that has even been the subject of billboards across the country. It goes like this, “If you don’t like police, next time call a crackhead.” This puerile catchphrase is thrown about online by police and apologists like it actually has merit and that the only other option for not calling the cops is calling a crackhead. But what happens when the police are the crackheads? Well, that happens to be the case with one officer in Madison County, Georgia who was busted this week for methamphetamine.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol pulled over Madison County deputy Gabriel Dalton, 31, Saturday around 8 p.m. During the stop, the trooper found methamphetamine in his car.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the sheriff’s office said the arrest came after it received information and turned it over to the GBI “for a fair and impartial investigation.” The nature of that information was not released.

In the department’s Facebook post, many people are giving their support to the officer claiming that he shouldn’t be judged for his drug use. We agree. Addiction is a serious issue that has no place in the criminal justice system. But we’d be irresponsible to not point out the fact that had a regular citizen been arrested for the same thing, these “thoughts and prayers” would be non-existent.

It is truly amazing how people can forgive a cop whose job consisted of locking people up for this very same “crime” while at the same time donning pitch forks and torches when it’s an average Joe. But it should come as no surprise given the hypocritical nature of the state. In fact, we have reported on police departments hiring former drug addicts and giving them a job in which they can arrest people for the very thing they have done.

In 2017, police departments began getting so desperate, they announced that they were willing to cut corners and lower both physical and drug-use requirements to attract more applicants. The NY Times writes:

"New Orleans, with more than 400 openings, no longer automatically disqualifies those who have injected heroin or smoked crack.

Aurora, Colo., has stopped using military-style running tests, but now checks how quickly candidates can get out of a squad car."

Lowering the bar to allow drug use should come as no surprise given the fact that a federal court ruled police departments across the nation can discriminate against applicants who are too smart.

This decision by the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit to condone the ability of police departments to discriminate against smart people is one of the most profoundly ridiculous moves ever made. But it also tends to explain the state of police departments today.

It would take a true hypocrite to kick their habit without going to jail only to join the police department and throw people in jail for the very same thing.

So, in essence, the slogan, “If you don’t like police, next time call a crackhead,” is now being taken seriously by law enforcement agencies all across the country. It could now be re-written as “Crackheads wanted to become police officers: Old rules no longer apply. No education necessary. Here’s your badge and your gun.”

The overwhelming majority of police work these days consists of revenue collection through the enforcement of immoral drug laws and traffic citations for victimless crimes, like window tint. If police departments across the country turned their focus from revenue generation to crime prevention, America would need fewer cops and animosity between the police and the policed would drop, dramatically.

To ignore the fact that the war on drugs is creating crime is a negligent and dangerous act. And, until it’s brought to an end, we can only expect this problem to get worse which is illustrated by this recent arrest in Georgia.

exactly and totally irrational. most humans are just not intellectual beings as some suppose rather emotional creatures. it takes huge gaps in logic of people to come to the conclusion he stated in the bold and unfortunately most people have no problem displaying those gaps.

People have been indoctrinated to just obey and lick the boot. When a LEO does their job they are labeled a hero and when they go off the rails and become criminals, society has a conditioned instinct to have empathy for them.

Blue line gang member Scott Mosely's exhibition of ignorance is exactly why more than a few months of "training" should be mandatory before taking an oath and putting on the costume and badge. Ignorance of the law should never be an acceptable excuse for LAW enforcement officers. Moseley was able to skirt any disciplinary actions for possessing no knowledge of the laws he was attempting to enforce due to a lack of training and was only suspended for 12 hours without pay. Whoop-de-effin-doo. Maybe this dolt should spend a little time in the law library rather than at the shooting range for the next few months.

‘You’re not allowed to drive here’: Oviedo officer suspended after wrongfully arresting man from Turkey

OVIEDO, Fla. - An Oviedo police officer has been suspended without pay after he wrongfully arrested a man from Turkey.

Body camera video from February of 2019 shows Officer Scott Mosely making a traffic stop along Red Bug Lake Road after a car was cutting between other vehicles and tailgating.

Mosely admitted during an internal investigation that he was annoyed that the driver took too long to pull over.

In the body camera video, when Mosely approached the driver, the first thing he said to the driver was, “Do you speak English?”

The driver is a Turkish national.

“How did you get a driver’s license if you don’t speak English?” Mosely asked the driver.

When the driver showed Mosely his Turkish driver’s license and passport, Mosely said, “You cannot drive here if you do not have a license in the United States of America.”

Under Florida law, nonresidents only need a valid license issued in their home state or country to drive.

Mosely then asked the driver, “Why did you not stop?” The driver told Mosely that he did not understand.

Mosely replied with, "Yeah, that’s why you should not be driving in America, when you don’t understand what it means when a cop is behind you with their lights on.”

The driver even used a translator app on his phone to try to communicate with the officer.

“You are not allowed to drive in America if you don’t know our laws, and you do not have an American license," Mosely said.

At one point, the officer took the phone and continued to insist that the driver is breaking the law.

“Give me that. Give me your phone. You do not know enough,” Mosely told the driver.

Eventually, Mosely told the driver to call his cousin, who owns the car, to come to the scene, and Mosely called for backup.

“You’re not allowed to drive here,” Mosely said.

Even with another officer present, Mosely put the driver in handcuffs and placed him under arrest.

After a hearing, it was determined that Mosely would not be disciplined for not having knowledge of laws and regulations because of lack of training.

Mosely was suspended for 12 hours without pay for his conduct.

More Victims Discovered After Cop Caught on Video Planting Meth on Innocent Grandma

Jackson County, FL — Dozens of innocent people who were rotting in jail have been freed and their charges erased after the corrupt cop who put them there was caught on his own body camera planting meth on an innocent grandmother. As TFTP has reported, Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy Zachary Wester has since been fired and arrested, and a slew of lawsuits are now rolling in.

Last year, this most insidious police officer was arrested on 52 counts of planting meth and other street drugs on entirely innocent motorists he would randomly pull over. Now, even more victims have been discovered and he was just hit with dozens more charges.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, prosecutors filed an amended information charging Wester with two dozen additional counts involving five more of his alleged victims. The charges stemmed from traffic stops in 2017 and 2018 in which drivers or passengers were arrested on drug charges including possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

During the initial investigation, Wester’s coworkers searched his vehicle and found a wealth of unmarked evidence, including 42 pieces of drug paraphernalia, 10 baggies of meth and five baggies of marijuana. The items were similar to those he planted on drivers, investigators said.

As TFTP reported, Wester’s fall from law enforcement grace and roughly 120 people who were exonerated are due largely in part to the diligence of a single person, assistant state attorney at the 14th Judicial Circuit, Christina Pumphrey.

Pumphrey’s job as assistant state attorney included reviewing evidence before moving forward with charges against individuals. When she began reviewing cases, she found something very peculiar.

When Pumphrey began watching the body camera footage from Wester’s arrests, she found something even more disturbing. Many times, Wester was seen conducting illegal searches. Also, his written affidavits did not match what she watched in the videos. But that wasn’t the most telling aspect of all these videos.

While it is no question that folks will claim that drugs found on them or in their possession “aren’t their’s” and “they don’t know how that got there,” nearly all of Wester’s cases had this. The videos showed that people were utterly shocked when Wester claimed to have found drugs in their vehicles. While a single person may have been lying, when everyone reacts the exact same way, something is up.

Although she reviewed multiple videos, Pumphrey never saw the actual act of Wester planting drugs or otherwise hiding them. However, all that changed when Wester pulled over Teresa Odom in February of 2018.

In that video, Wester pulls Odom over, claiming her tail lights aren’t working. However, it would later be revealed that her tail lights were, in fact, working fine and Wester had targeted her to frame her.

In the video, Wester is extremely nice to the woman, complimenting her, joking around, and making small talk. But in the back of his mind, he knew the entire time that he was going to plant meth on her and have her thrown in a cage—an insidious move indeed.

After threatening to have a K-9 come search her car, Wester tells Odom that she can avoid the K-9 if she just lets him search her truck himself—a huge mistake.

As the body camera shows, Wester opens the door to Odom’s truck and is cupping a small baggie with a white powder in it.

Wester would plant the substance under a red towel in her truck and then pretend to find it later. Odom would then be arrested and thrown in a cage so this officer could make himself look like a hero.

Apparently, it wasn’t just Wester who had an interest in locking up innocent people as he had the full support of his higher ups.

“The state attorney’s office was just as bad and just as guilty as Zach Wester when we found this out and were not dropping these cases immediately, in my mind,” Pumphrey said. “When it was ignorance it was one thing, but as soon as we know there are innocent people sitting in jail and we don’t drop the charges, we’re as guilty as he is.”

Although Wester was fired after Pumphrey exposed him, it took investigators months to bring the charges against him.

Also, although a 120 people were vindicated, and a possible 30 more could be, they still face challenges from being framed.

“People still had consequences. It wasn’t like this was just all erased,” Pumphrey said. Dropped charges still remain on a person’s criminal record. And “even though the charges got dropped, there were people sitting in jail for six months on no bond because of this case. Or you’ve got people who have to spend money on supervision fees; they have to spend money paying for their own urine analysis test; they’ve done community service hours; they paid cost of bond — like $1,500. … You’re not getting back six months of your life. Or you’re not getting back the job that you lost because you sat in jail for a week before your girlfriend could get the bond money.”

The next time someone tells you that obeying the law will keep you out of trouble with police, show them this article. A single cop had over 100 victims. For now, however, it appears that the system may move to make a correction.

“Trooper of the Year” Arrested for Producing Child Porn, Distributing It to His Own Network

Baton Rouge, LA — In 2018, Louisiana State Police Trooper of 18 years, Jason Boyet received one of the department’s highest honors—Trooper of the Year. Fast forward two years, and this hero cop is sitting in a jail cell after being arrested on charges of production and distribution of child pornography.

After Trooper Boyet was arrested Wednesday, he was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail then transferred into protective custody at another facility—likely due to his police officer status. He was then put on administrative leave, not fired.
    (AKA paid vacation)

    According to WWL:

"The FBI and LSP Special Victims Unit began an investigation after a suspect, later identified as Boyet, allegedly produced and shared pornographic images on an unnamed online application. Troopers say agents identified Boyet as the online user and arrested him after an interview."

“The investigation remains ongoing with the potential for additional charges,” the LSP spokesperson said.

This Trooper of the Year is alleged to have been running his own child porn network. Not only was he allegedly distributing the horrifying images and videos, he was producing them!

Even more disturbing is the fact that Boyet is reportedly married and has three children. It is unclear at the moment if the children in the porn he was producing were his own.

In a Facebook post from 2018, LSP Troop L issued the following praise about their star trooper of they year.

"Senior Trooper Jason Boyet was recognized as the Louisiana State Police Troop L Trooper of the Year at the annual Slidell Elks Law and Order Night. When considering candidates, S/T Boyet’s supervisors highlighted his job performance, initiative, professionalism, and most of all leadership."

We wonder if they still feel this way about this alleged child predator.

Former Colorado police officer sentenced to federal prison for possessing child pornography

DENVER — A former police officer at Red Rocks Community College was sentenced Wednesday in federal court for possessing images of child pornography.

A judge gave David Delaney, 29, 10 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

Delaney was arrested in September of 2018 after another law enforcement agency alerted the Red Rocks Community College Police Department to “a possible child pornography case” in which Delaney was the primary suspect.

Officers in Colorado from four agencies independently discovered Delaney’s computer offering child pornography for distribution online via a file-sharing program, according to prosecutors.

Delaney was placed on administrative leave and eventually fired by Red Rocks Community College once it was notified of the investigation. The college has campuses in Lakewood and Arvada

A search of his home revealed electronic media containing graphic images of child pornography. Officers also discovered a shelf in Delaney’s bedroom that contained pictures depicting Delaney and a child, along with various notes and memorabilia involving Delaney and the child, prosecutors said.

Further investigation revealed that Delaney had access to another child. During the sentencing hearing, the court found that Delaney had engaged in a pattern of activity involving the sexual abuse of the second child and that he was grooming the first child for abuse.

Video shows teen assaulted by Atrium security, Lincoln Co. sheriff’s deputy outside ER

LINCOLNTON, N.C. (WBTV) – Jessica Long took her 16-year-old son to the emergency room at Atrium Health – Lincolnton because she was worried he was having a mental health emergency. Instead of getting treatment, he was violently assaulted by hospital security guards and a Lincoln County sheriff’s deputy.

Long took her son to the ER just after midnight on Sunday, December 8, 2019. He had received mental health treatment in the past and she was concerned he might need help that night.

When Long and her son got to the ER, he was angry and didn’t want to be there. She was afraid he might try to run away from the car, so she asked for a security guard to help get him in the building to be seen.

Video shows the guard came out of the ER and stood there for less than a minute before he grabbed the boy, shoved him to the ground and drew his taser. Surveillance video of the incident shows the boy got back up before the guard shoved him off the sidewalk and into the grass.

“At no point did they tell him to put his hands behind his back, to stand still, they never tried to deescalate the situation. They just immediately went for full-blown physical force,” Long said.

The guard still had his taser drawn when a second security guard showed up. At that point, the first guard holstered his taser and Long and her son went back towards her car.

Long wanted to move her car but wanted the guards to help her son get into the ER to receive treatment. Instead, the video shows, when her back was turned, the second security guard grabbed him by the neck from behind and jumped on top of him, tackling him to the ground.

Once the boy was on the ground, video shows pools of blood dripping from his mouth.

He stayed on the ground for more than five minutes with both guards on top of him. The video shows the guards stunned the boy with a taser twice.

“I was in shock! I didn’t know what to do,” Long recalled. “I was just kind of helpless to do much of anything.”

The video shows her standing near her son as he lay on concrete driveway in handcuffs, with both guards on top of him and blood dripping from his mouth.

That changed when four deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office showed up.

The deputies told the guards to get off the boy and he was sat up.

The boy, who had a mouth full of blood, spit as he was sat up. In response to the boy spitting blood, the video shows a deputy punching the boy in the face twice.

That deputy - who was later identified as Justin Polson - was so irate, the video shows, he ran over to Long and began yelling at her before a second deputy pulled him away and ultimately pulled him to the ground to control him.

Lincoln County Sheriff Bill Beam said Polson did nothing wrong in punching a 16-year-old boy whose hands were cuffed behind his back.

“Deputy Polson had a reaction to a felonious assault,” Beam said. “Spitting in a law enforcement officer’s face - spitting blood in a law enforcement officer’s face - is a felonious assault and he had a right to stop that assault from occurring.”

In fact, Beam denied Polson punched the boy in the face at all.

“Your deputy punched a 16-year-old with his hands handcuffed behind his back, twice. Is that an appropriate use of force?” a WBTV reporter asked Beam.

“All I saw was once and he was pushing him back away,” Beam responded.

Beam said Polson was disciplined for his behavior towards Long but his personnel record does not reflect a suspension, demotion or transfer.

Feds: Cincinnati officer outed undercover colleague, lied to federal agents

A Cincinnati police officer outed an undercover colleague to the nightclub owner under investigation and concealed $81,000 in off-duty income from the IRS, according to federal prosecutors.

Quianna Campbell, 39, was arrested Friday. She stands charged with lying to federal agents and submitting false tax returns.

According to the criminal complaint filed against Campbell in United States District Court, federal agents first became aware of her during a 2015 investigation into Cincinnati nightclubs’ potential involvement in organized drug trafficking and money-laundering.

“During the course of this investigation, information was received that individuals associated with nightclubs had been or were currently being warned of police activities and were in essence being tipped off and possibly protected by members of the Cincinnati Police Department,” an IRS investigator wrote.

Investigators later uncovered text messages in which a nightclub owner texted Campbell to ask about a specific person who had visited the club.

“She’s an officer….” Campbell wrote back. She also discussed possible reasons police would be investigating the club, writing: “They work on random nights and go into different bars. If they come back again next weekend I would say yes.”

In an interview with federal investigators, Campbell denied sending the messages and said she would never out an undercover officer.

In 2018, according to the complaint, Campbell would admit she had also concealed a total of $81,000 she had earned working off-duty details between 2015-17. She didn’t report the total to the IRS in her taxes, “because if she had reported the income she would not have received as large of tax refunds she received from the federal government,” the IRS investigator wrote.

If convicted on both charges, Campbell could spent up to eight years in federal prison.

"The Cincinnati Police Department is aware of the indictment and arrest of Police Officer Quianna Campbell this afternoon," a department spokesperson wrote in a statement Friday afternoon. "We will be monitoring the judicial process and provide an update if more information becomes available."

Instead of being arrested, like any person other than a cop would be, eight blue line gang members get a paid vacation for using and selling illegal steroids. Another example of the two sets of rules and laws. One for the American public and another half-assed, rarely enforced one for the blue line gang. These blue zero heroes are facing misdemeanor and felony charges, but I'd bet the farm they end up getting some type of blue line privilege plea deal and do no time in prison and probably keep their jobs. On the off chance that they do lose their jobs for their criminal behavior, the police union will swoop in and try to get these POS costumed and badged criminals reinstated. And if the union is unsuccessful, these criminal pigs will probably end up working at some other law enforcement agency.

Not One or Two, But 8 Officers in Single Dept Busted Using and Running Steroid Ring

Wichita, KS — — As the Free Thought Project reports on a regular basis, cops across the country are often caught committing the same crimes for which they routinely kidnap and cage people. From stealing from charities to selling drugs they steal from their jobs as cops, many police officers have proven to be as bad or worse than than the criminals from which they claim to protect society. The following instance out of Kansas, in which multiple cops were busted using, distributing and selling steroids, proves this notion.

According to a report out of Wichita this week, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office suspended a whopping eight deputies for using, distributing and selling steroids. These public servants weren’t only dosing themselves with the juice, but they were making money selling it—likely to their fellow cops. The sheriff assures the public that despite this large number, it was only these eight deputies.

“Throughout the day, we did numerous interviews,” said Sheriff Jeff Easter. “This is all contained within this group of deputies using, selling, and possessing steroids. Selling was transpiring between these deputies as well. It doesn’t appear it has been introduced into the facility.”

After the seven men and one woman — yes, a female deputy was involved—were suspended and not arrested, they were all given paid vacations.

“All of these folks have been relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of any charges that might be filed,” said Sheriff Easter. “We believe it all took place outside of the facility.“

According to investigators, they found “some evidence” and are testing it before proceeding any further.

“We have to get that tested, that will take a little bit,” said Sheriff Easter.

Despite all of the accused individuals being public servants, none of their names were released.

According to the Wichita Eagle, Easter said the deputies could face felony charges of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

However, that has yet to happen. A civilian caught selling or possessing steroids would most likely not be afforded these same privileges.

It is important to point out that TFTP doesn’t think any drug should be illegal, including steroids. If people want to take performance enhancing steroids, who are we to stop them. But these deputies have hypocritically kidnapped and caged so many other people for these substances while selling and using them at the same time, which means they should most assuredly face accountability. What’s more, although we feel anyone should be able to do any drug they wish, it is not at all a good idea to allow people in law enforcement, with authority to use violence against citizens, to use these drugs as they are associated with rage.

In fact, the problem of police steroid use became so bad, in 2004, the DEA intervened to warn of the “possible psychological disturbances” of steroid raging cops.

Eventually, a few years later, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, made up of 16,000 members worldwide set a standard that “calls upon state and local law enforcement entities to establish a model policy prohibiting the use of illegally obtained steroids” by officers.

    However, this policy never happened.

Not only do cops vehemently resist being drug tested by their departments, claiming it is a violation of their civil rights, as this case illustrates, they are also frequently caught selling steroids.

“This is one of the dirty little secrets of American law enforcement,” says Gregory Gilbertson, a former Atlanta cop who teaches criminal justice in the Seattle area and works as a legal expert on police standards and practices, according to Alternet. “Steroid testing is declining, and I think there’s an attitude in all these agencies of ‘see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil’ because they don’t want to know about it. Because if they know about it, then they have to address it.”

Ignoring the problem of roid rage does not make it go away. As TFTP previously reported, the cases of cops using and selling steroids are anything but isolated.

The dangers of cops taking steroids are obvious, as the rage associated with their use can become uncontrollable. All too often, we see police officers immediately escalate situations to violence when de-escalation would have been far easier and safer. Steroids could be the reason.

“I keep seeing all of these cases where the level of anger and violence shown by officers makes no sense,” Gilbertson says. “And when things don’t make sense, they don’t make sense for a reason…Maybe steroid rage is a reason so many police officers seem so angry and aggressive.”

Cops on the juice feel indestructible, as if they have superhuman strength.

Or as the DEA puts it, “The idea of enhanced physical strength and endurance provides one with ‘the invincible mentality’ when performing law enforcement duties.”

    Starting to make sense now?

Instead of Calling 911, State Rep, Police Chief Covered Up Friend’s Hit and Run as Victim Died in a Ditch

Cedartown, GA — The ‘good ole boy’ network is alive and well in Georgia and an innocent man is now dead because of it. Instead of calling for medical aid to help a dying cyclist their friend had just run over, a police chief and his state representative friend plotted how to cover it up.

Eric Keais, 38, spent his last hour on this Earth bleeding out in a ditch, suffering from internal injuries he sustained after being plowed down on his bicycle by Ralph “Ryan” Dover III.

“It’s really hard on me because he’s…my brother, man,” Eric’s brother Aaron Keais said through tears. “I wasn’t ready for him to go.”

11 Alive reports that Eric and Aaron were set to start working together as painters that week, but that would never happen. Now, Aaron is finding out the truth of what happened that fateful night on September 12, 2019—truth, that even surprised and enraged the coroner.

As 11 Alive reports, Polk County Coroner Tony Brazier wasn’t ready for what he would learn about the crash. That his friends, some of the most prominent people in the community, were involved in the aftermath to varying degrees.

“We realized early on that this was going to be a problematic case,” he said. “This was more than just a regular accident. The vehicle had been moved.”

Instead of stopping and checking on the cyclist he just hit that night, Dover drove nearly another mile with “the passenger side head light, hood and fender area caved in along with the passenger side windshield shattered and caved in,” the police report read. There was also red paint from Eric’s bicycle on the car too.

When he finally stopped, instead of calling 911 to report the dying man on the side of the road, Dover called his friend, attorney and Georgia State Representative Trey Kelley.

Dover later told police, “at first, he didn’t know what he hit and then said it could have been a deer or possibly a person,” the police report said.

“The best-case scenario, let’s say, ‘OK, [Dover] told [Representative Kelley] I hit a dog or a deer. Are you going to drive a mile away and call a lawyer? No,” Brazier said, emphatically.

Only a few minutes had passed since Dover struck Keais and paramedics could’ve been there in under five minutes to save his life. However, despite the fact that Representative Kelly “saw a bicycle at the side of the road” where the accident happened, instead of dialing 911, he called the chief of police, Jamie Newsome, at home.

While Eric was lying in the ditch dying, “[Representative Kelley] observed a bicycle on the side of the road and immediately called [Cedartown Police] Chief [Jamie] Newsome” at home, the police report said.

Newsome, according to the report, then acknowledged that a person may have been hit while on the phone with Kelley. Yet again, no one called 911. As 11 Alive reports, instead of calling 911:

"He got on his police radio and asked his sergeant to call him on the phone – at home.

The Reveal discovered it would not have been unusual for the chief to call the 911 center directly for police, fire and ambulance to head to the scene. He had done so dozens of times in the past for a variety of things – including cases involving damage to property, location checks, etc., according to Polk County 911.

The sergeant says the police chief told him there was a possible accident and that he should go talk to the state representative and the driver who were now closer, in a parking lot across the street from the scene."

“[Chief Newsome] tried to manage a 911 call. You can’t micromanage a 911 call. Not from your home. You can’t do that,” Brazier said, angrily.

An hour after the crash, EMS was finally called who responded in less than 3 minutes. Eric’s body was found 100 feet from his bicycle. Showing how his life could’ve been saved had EMS been called earlier, Eric was still breathing when they found him.

“Middle-age, white male possibly struck by vehicle, shortness of breath, unconscious. Pulse?” The sergeant told a dispatcher over the police radio.

“But by this point in time, we missed the golden hour,” Brazier said, explaining that, if a trauma patient can get into a trauma setting within an hour, their chances of survival changes dramatically. It improves.

Sadly, however, because Eric was left to die in the ditch for an hour, he succumbed to his injuries and died minutes later.

“If Polk 911 had gotten this call like it should have gotten…this boy might still be alive today,” Brazier said. “This mess here stinks to the high heavens. This reeks of the good ole boy.”

“My brother was cheated out of life…It’s just something out of a nightmare that you wouldn’t believe that would happen. That nobody would do nothing,” said Aaron.

The were not just nobodies, however, they are the very people who claim to ‘protect’ and ‘serve’ society. Instead of protecting and serving, however, they chose to cover their asses and an innocent man died as a result.

Highlighting the disgusting nature of this good ole boy network is the fact that Dover has faced no charges. The lack of charges comes in spite of the fact that on his death certificate, Brazier wrote that Eric died by “homicide” in a “hit and run” crash.

Dover never got so much as a ticket for the hit and run, fleeing the scene, or killing a man.

    Shameful indeed.

Brazier has since pledged to fight this until someone pays.

“I’m not going to allow this to go on, on my watch. I don’t care and I want to make it very clear, I’ll send whoever behind bars before I see this covered up,” Brazier said. Adding, “I used to have a great deal of respect and admiration for all three of these individuals. And, I, yes, considered them [Rep. Kelley and Police Chief Newsome] friends, but no more. I cannot and I will not tolerate this type of behavior.”

I was thinking the same when reading the story and watching the video. The coroner seems to be the only above board person in the situation.

WATCH: Off Duty Cop Follows Woman Through Parking Lot, Attacks Her—Taxpayers Shell Out $125K

A Fort Collins woman has sued the Fort Collins Police Department as well as the city for the alleged violent arrest and use of excessive force she claims she endured at the hands of an off-duty police officer. Now the taxpayers of Fort Collins will be shelling out $125,000 because this cop couldn’t control his violent tendencies.

The officer, Stephen Sparacio, arrested Kimberly Chancellor outside of her apartment complex on October 6, 2017. Sparacio claims he witnessed Chancellor driving at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic, and he was forced to make contact with the motorist. But Chancellor can be heard yelling at Sparacio claiming she had no idea who he was. This appeared obvious as he was in plain clothes, on a private motorcycle, and off-duty. Any violent rapist could make the same claim.

Cell phone footage was taken by a resident through what appears to be a home’s window which shows how scary of a situation Chancellor endured as this unknown man attacked her.

After following the officer back to his motorcycle, Chancellor stoops down to retrieve her identification but pulls back out of fear supposedly. That’s when Sparacio takes her down, pinning the much smaller weighted woman under him.

David Lane filed the lawsuit this past Oct. 4th and claims the police department employs a “policy of inaction” and his client was the victim of an officer who violated multiple departmental policies. Two reviews of the incident, one by the Internal Review Board and another by the Citizen Review Board both determined he violated police procedures during the arrest but couldn’t come to a consensus on whether or not unnecessary force was used to apprehend the woman.

Remember, this cop merely claimed Chancellor violated a traffic law, a citable offense, yet he employed violence and force against her while off-duty.

In the lawsuit filed last year, Lane cited a pattern of neglect and abuses carried out by Fort Collins Police. This week, he called the settlement “the tip of the iceberg” in terms of Fort Collins police-related lawsuits.

“My law firm has four cases pending against the Fort Collins police department for using excessive force,” Lane said in a statement provided to the Coloradoan. “Three of the four cases have videos of officers brutalizing women. This settlement is the tip of the iceberg and much more taxpayer money will be spent on cleaning up the messes made by the police department.”

Michaella Surat was a sorority girl who was violently slammed to the ground. An 80-year-old Fort Collins man, Stanley Cropp, was violently tackled by Fort Collins police while walking in his neighborhood. Joe Heneghan was pepper sprayed after refusing to show his ID and denied a Fort Collins cop entry into his home. The cop then teabagged Heneghan with his crotch as the man sat in handcuffs on the sidewalk.

Also of interest was the case of shoplifting suspect Natasha Patnode who was arrested and brutalized by a Fort Collins cop inside a Target store in 2018. Patnode’s lawsuit is wrapping up soon, after a former Fort Collins police officer struck her with his fist and baton 50 times, sat on her and tased her while arresting her on suspicion of shoplifting at Target in 2018.

Fort Collins spokeswoman Amanda King confirmed the settlement with Chancellor and the pending settlement with Patnode in an email, according to the Coloradoan.

Each case was cited in Chancellor’s lawsuit against the department and the city.

Lane says it was perfectly normal for Chancellor to begin walking away from a man who was shouting at her. We agree. She continued to walk away until Sparacio identified himself as a law enforcement officer and promised to arrest her if she continued.

The lawsuit claims Chancellor suffered multiple cuts and bruises on her face, arms, and knees. She also reportedly had a “egg-sized bump” and a cut on her forehead which lasted many days.

Chancellor was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and careless driving. She pleaded guilty to careless driving and the obstruction charge was dropped.

Fort Collins has paid out an average of $670,000 per year for the last 10 years for police misconduct. Unfortunately, instead of the actual officers having to pay, it’s the American taxpayer which foots the bill.

This blue line thug stops a man for traveling 5 mph below the speed limit to conduct a fishing expedition.

According to WRAL, a spokesman for the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office said leaders there would review the in-car camera of the deputy involved. “Should personnel action be necessary, we will take appropriate action,” he said, noting that Perry has not filed a formal complaint.

NY Cop Arrested for Sexually Abusing Woman with Learning Disabilities

A New York officer was investigating an alleged larceny when he decided to sexually abuse the suspect.

Peekskill police officer Michael Agovino, 33, was arrested Saturday after a woman with learning disabilities turned in a six-minute tape that was secretly recording Agovino groping her and attempting to force her into her bedroom.

It all started in July of 2019, when Agovino contacted the woman and told her she needed to meet him in a public location for his investigation into her alleged larceny.

Once the woman denied stealing the money, Agovino ordered her into his patrol car to take her home to search her house for the stolen money, according to the complaint.

But when they arrived at her home, Agovino ordered her to strip for him to search her. The woman was in fear for her life due to his authoritative power as well as him being armed, so she complied.

Once she was unclothed, Agovino groped her breasts saying she "had beautiful breasts," according to the complaint. As Agovino was leaving, he told her he would be back to arrest her if he found out she did indeed steal money.

He came back days later, in uniform, unannounced, but not to arrest her.

Agovino illegally entered her house and tried to intimidate her by telling her he was going to arrest her based off the evidence he found, according to the complaint.

The woman tried telling Agovino that she has blood pressure issues and needed to take her medicine. Agovino refused to allow her to take it and gave her an ultimatum. He told her to either strip once more or preform oral sex on him.

Still in fear, the woman chose to strip down again for Agovino. Agovino fondled himself through his clothes, according to the complaint.

Agovino showed up once more, in uniform, on January 22 and became hostile.

He demanded for her to strip and “let me see that.” She repeatedly told him no numerous times. So, he groped her over her clothes. He attempted to force her into her bedroom, according to the complaint. His demands were met with an even louder “no.”

The January 22 interaction was secretly recorded by the woman who turned the tape over to authorities.

Agovino was charged with three sex related charges: first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree stalking as a sexually motivated felony, and second-degree burglary as a sexually motivated felony.

He is currently being held on a $50,000 bail in Westchester County jail in Valhalla. It is unknown if he has an attorney.

Westchester's district attorney Anthony Scarpino said that there is no evidence that she committed any crimes related to Agovino’s investigation and the woman was never arrested.

This is not the first time Agovino has made headlines.

Agovino was in a police brutality lawsuit that was settled in 2015. The complainant sued Agovino, a second Peekskill police officer, and the city police department seeking $75,000, in 2013. According to the lawsuit, a resident claimed Agovino used a Taser on him while being falsely arrested with larceny. Details about the settlement were not publicly disclosed.

Then you'd have to endure a few extra minutes of copsplaining as he attempts to justify both his need to meet his quota and his role as a revenue collector.

DESPERATE: Utah mom calls 9-1-1 for formula, police officers deliver it

SALT LAKE CITY (CNN) — A desperate mother called police for help to feed her newborn. It was the middle of the night and her other four young children were asleep and her husband was out of town.
Shannon Bird, Called 911 for Baby Formula: “I have no formula. And I have no idea how I can get formula to her. And I’ve been calling neighbors and no one will answer.”
She told the dispatcher, her milk had suddenly dried up.
” Shannon Bird, Called 911 for Baby Formula: “This is my fifth kid and this has never happened.”
Officers in Lone Peak answered the call.
Initially the officers brought milk, but then realized the baby was too young to drink it. They made another run to the story to buy formula. They wouldn’t accept any money from the mom.
Shannon Bird, Called 911 for Baby Formula: “I was not expecting them to go get that food for me. Honestly, maybe you guys can just patrol my house while I’m away and I wake up my 8-year-old.”
Lone Peak’s spokesperson applauds his fellow officers saying this case, while unique, isn’t much different than helping change a tire.
Shannon Bird, Called 911 for Baby Formula: “I had never been that frantic. Like what do you do? Thank you for helping people in situations where they can’t help themselves in emergencies.”

If there are so many good cops then why do we have any bad cops? LEOs swear an oath to defend and protect the constitution and uphold and enforce the law before putting on the badge. There is not an exemption in their oath that states anything about not enforcing or upholding the law when a fellow officer commits a crime or violates a citizen's constitutional rights. Yet, most officers turn a blind eye and remain silent when witnessing fellow cops break the law and often times assist with the cover up. This is not honoring their oath and in turn this makes them a bad cop, too.

The "bad apples" theory again. It should be expected of the "good" cops to honor their OATH and see to it that all of the "bad apples" that persist in law enforcement are removed, charged and held accountable as any other person, other than a cop, would be. Not look the other way, assist with the cover up of criminal behavior and violations of people's rights, create false statements on police reports and perjure themselves in court. This the climate of the system with the blue line gang today. The entire system is broken and corrupted from the cops and their unions all the way to the courts and judges. For some reason some people (both the public and those who hold positions of power) feel that those who have taken an OATH to uphold and enforce the law should be granted special privileges and weak or no punishment when they break the law or violate someone's constitutional rights. How backwards if that? Why is the taxpayers' money used to pay out settlement and lawsuits for police misconduct and criminal behavior? The doctors that you mentioned have and pay for insurance for malpractice. LEOs should be required to do the same. Too many claims made and they become uninsurable and can longer work as law enforcement. If these criminals with costumes and badges had to personally pay for their own insurance and the settlements/lawsuits I think we would see fewer "bad apples." Maybe.

Some of those professions that you mentioned are sworn positions, some are not. If you take an OATH and do not honor that OATH then you should no longer hold that position or be eligible to hold any position related to it...period. None of those professions use taxpayer money to pay for settlements/lawsuits for their misconduct or criminal behavior, but the taxpayers are on the hook for the blue line gang's misconduct and violations of people's constitutional rights. Big difference.
