    Shocking video captures the moment a man sets himself on fire

    • The unidentified man set himself on fire on Wednesday on the Ellipse park in downtown Washington D.C.
    • Video of the incident showed the man walking calmly across the Ellipse near the Washington Mall, an area popular with tourists, with flames covering his body
    • Service staff could be seen towards him with a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze man is said to have suffered burns to 85 percent of his body and was transported to hospital with 'life threatening injuries'
    • There have been several security incidents at the White House in recent years
