    It's twisted from our current cultural POV yes, but I'm going to assume Babs was putting this in context similar to 13,14 yr old girls marrying 40 yr old men on America not that long ago (prevalent in south and amongst immigrant families), the movement of the man/boy love association or even arranged relationships in far east counties.

    In each case, non that out of date, some still practiced, the guardian of the child gets benefits, the child gets benefits and the payor gets benefits.

    I know it sounds horrible that this was basically a mutual relationship with 3 parties (kid, parent, mj) thats no different thsn a whore, pimp, john,but noone took a kid against the will of their guardian or the kids themselves (not that they understand).
