How Much Do You Tip Delivery People???

Pizza (Food), Furniture, Movers, Pets, UPS, Swimming Pool Installers, etc...

What is standard and acceptable these days?

    All thoughts and input appreciated...

    Thanks! 2B

Pizza guy is only one I've ever tipped among those serbuces I believe.

But I'm an excellent tipper in restaurants.

We eat out a lot and as soon as the waiter/waitress speaks, my wife and I can tell if they are good or not.

I just gave the guys $20 each for delivering my firewood.

They were very appreciative and told me this doesn't happen often...

Pizza joint in Ottawa with with about 30 locations charges $3.50 for the minimum order, dont give the $3.50 to the driver and he uses his own car and gas. Safe to say once I heard that was they way they do business, I no longer eat their garbage. Phucking thievs. Owners cook the books daily with all the cash paid takeout, no trace, it never happened. Then they steal from delivery guy, they dont even need to come up with the $14/hr minimum wage as the $3.50 charge would be charged 6 times atleast in an hour. Food delivery baotu $5/order, everyone else....zero

If you order food through DoorDash make sure you tip cash.

If you tip in the app the driver doesn’t get the whole tip, or any of it if you are a small tipper.

Totally agree. Delivery charges go straight to the owner of the establishment.

Hurts the delivery drivers because customers tend to tip less thinking it goes to the delivery drivers...

I tip 20% across the board. Delivery, waitress, manual laborer - all 20%. We had 10k$ worth of concrete done at our house this summer and I tipped the laborers 500$ each. Didn’t tip the boss though. He was working with them but he’s the guy getting the big bucks.

If I order food and 20% is less than 10$ I’ll just give 10$ as a minimum. You want these folks to like you.

If I get shitty service, I still tip 20% and then I just don’t go back to the place.

Food delivery is the guys you want to keep happy. Think about it, in the weird world we live in, is there a person you have to trust more?

They are in a car alone with your food, no cameras, for 10-30 minutes. I hope these guys aren’t driving around thinking about being pissed off at customers

That's generous. Good service is key.

However, at times it's not the fault of the person you're directly dealing with if the service is subpar...

How would you even tip them?

For me at least they are back in their truck before I even get to the door...if the ring the bell at all.

Generally for food ill tip 20 percent, less if the majority of the bill.is booze.

If eating out, 20%. I pretty much never order delivery. My thought process is why pay double when you can drive for 10 mins and get it yourself.

We give your broke ass a break, all the money you must spend to keep your bald ass dome shining must cost a fortune. I am sure the kid was thinking the same thing.

But in all seriousness, if your broke ass can't afford to tip well than go get a $4 frozen pizza from the local store because you are an embarrassment.

Pizzas are expensive in his area. His video the other day mentioned JJ paying $19 for a digorno pizza.
