Opt for the balcony, nothing like sitting on your balcony after a night at the casino, drinking whiskey and all you see and hear is the ocean.

Dont listen to the naysayers, try it out. Just be sure to get a balcony
You obviously haven't driven up the coast from LA to Canada on Highway 1.. You wouldn't be trolling me if you did.. You got wine tasting or beer tasting stops in Solvang, then you hit Hearst Castle for a history lesson and views, then you move on to Oregon and Seattle and that's always an adventure.. It's all on the coast and I can go on and on.. Stop and smell the roses, seal watching, beaches you name it..

It's awesome in summertime.. Nice hotels along the way also. Can be pricey though. Much better then any Cruise liner.. They even have scenic routes marked along the way.. I loved it.. Much better then Ocean liner cruises.. I'm an Ocean man too, surfed my entire life. Love the beach and Ocean.. I'm telling you drive up the coastal areas and stop along the way is the best..

I can only imagine what driving up the Florida coast would be like.. I didn't do that yet fully but I did do it half way and it was nice also.. Awesome seafood restaurants in Florida on the Coast driving along... I need to do that and complete that road trip one day when I move down there!!!

I just drove from Bellingham to San Francisco on Highway 1 3 weeks ago. I’ve been up and down the West coast. I’ve also worked on cruise ships.

Krit, book a cruise wherever the hell you want on Princess or Royal Carribean and I guarantee you’ll love it...

Well did you do it all the way up to Seattle in a nice SUV like an Escalade or a rented motor home like I did?

Island fever is real, Ocean Cruise liner fever even more real.. I guess it depends on the person. Been on Norwegian cruise line and others not impressed... I'm done with the Ocean cruise liners.. Never again for Jibs... Boring!!! My closest friends feel the same..

God damn boy, you just love to argue. You’re talking to someone that worked on a fukking cruise ship for two years and you’re you’re trying to tell me about “island fever”, pretty funny.

i’ve never been to Seattle, is it nice?

Crystal is far and away the best cruise line I've been on.

Higher end with better food and less people.

Some of the other cruise lines are so low end and try and nickle and dime you for every little thing.

Went on our first one through a trip i qualified for this summer to Caribbean on the Equinox with Celebrity. We liked it was fun overall. The buffet was nice because we discovered the back of the ship had a great view and noone really went back there and there was a bar. So we ate there and had out drinks. Got the drink package drinks under $9 free over that you pay the difference. Food was not bad basic buffet stuff. Went to one specialty restaurant with nicer food but had to wear dress pants. Had Filet Mignon and duck higher scale but also included . Room service was weird had free stuff like burgers and chicken and salads and iced tea and lemonade but also had filet mignon and higher quality food for like $25 . Do not know why anyone would spend cash though when they had an Ok selection for free. Also Room service for breakfast was free had that a couple times Eggs, bacon, home fries.sausage , toast ,juices and coffee . All Free. One night i wanted a snack while in the room so got a salad and macaroni and cheese and some Iced Teas. It was like food but better because it was free .

TV sucked not much to watch except travel Channel and Expedition Unknown and Ghost Adventurers and Mysteries at the Museum.

I got hooked up by a friend who got me 60% discount on a seabourn cruise that did 7 different caribbean islands in 7 days. They are super pricey and cost like 20k for the basic room with a view. This is the only way I would do cruises personally after being on some of the other ones that are zoos. There were like 150 ppl on the boat max and the casino was always pretty empty and stayed open until like 1am. My brother and I would goto the casino at like 11 each night and there would usually be about 3 other guys in there max. I was on a heater playing 3 card poker of some sort (had a 3-4-5 of diamonds and won like 2500) bc I bet the front bet also where if you dont atleast get above jacks? you lose. Anyways it was a pretty fun game I haven't played since. This heater was comical. The employees probably made like 4k off my luck as I would always have a tip out for them and hit some ridiculous hands. They closed down the black jack table bc they ran out of chips two nights and they never had enough to pay me at the end of my sessions and they would have like 4k in their lockbox max. By the end of trip I had gone to guest relations twice with giant stacks and had to have some random lady go get me the cash. The dealers claimed I was the biggest winner the ship has ever had since they had been on it. Started with 1k and just went on a heater. Going to port each day was awesome. Got to meet locals and buy some ganja etc and goto relaxing beaches/bars. The ship had 3 top notch restaurants unlimited top shelf booze and 148 old people and my brother and me. I give it a 9.5 out of 10 stars simply bc the possibility of picking up a chick on one of these luxury cruises is slim to none. Id guess 98% are there as a couple. It was still a blast thought and would highly recommend bringing your girl if you can afford to one day and really want the true cruise experience.

Fair enough.. I thought you said you lived in Seattle for a time? Seattle, Washington kinda sucks, has alot of traffic now and it rains way to much year round.. Always gray sky's above.. That's why the suicide rate is so high there..

For visiting or passing thru Seattle is nice to hang out for a day or two I guess...

I used to live there, still go back a few times a month for work and to see family. It has changed a lot. Big developers like Amazon have changed it. Cost of living here is insane, I moved about 100 miles north because property was too expensive. I think the average house in Seattle is around 800k and on the east side it is over 1mill. You basically gotta make close to 70K just to live a basic life in Seattle. Yeah traffic is awful, but it's been like that for a while now. The biggest shift is to all the young hipsters.

I still love that city, but not what it used to be.

I did, was just fukking with ya. Lived in Yarrow Point the last 4 years, worked at the Univ of Wash Med Ctr. People that love the city are people that ski, mountain bike, hike, fish, etc.... If you dont do a lot of outdoors stuff then Seattle is just another city.

Lol my mom works at UW Medicine, well she did. She just retired from there a few months ago. I think she helped with the interns. Used to pick her up there all the time, maybe we saw each other and didn’t even know it.

Went to Bermuda once.....once. Right after a hurricane which only happens every 50 years.

Rough seas to and from. Wife was sick as a dog. She kissed land when she got off.

She now won't go on a cruze and won't fly. I bought a travel camper, wonder if she will do that?

Seattle certainly has it's own vibe for sure.. I remember the grunge era back in the 90's.. Seattle home for that movement... Nirvana and what not... Then the Nirvana singer Kurt Kobain blows his head off.. Suicide go figure..

Been on a few carnival cruises and a princess. You really do get what you pay for. Just don’t buy all the things they push like pictures and jewelry, super overpriced. Avoid Alaska, though cheap, it’s boring, all the ports are the same and excursions include looking at icebergs and trees. Been to Mexico and Caribbean’s. Much more fun and exotic. However, I do like to move around so the last day or so on the boat, I am bored out of my mind and get restless so I won’t do anything more than 7 days.

A Florida couple is recalling a distressing experience on a Carnival Cruise after finding a hidden camera pointing at their bed.

In an interview set to air Monday, Chris and Dana White told Inside Edition that they discovered a recording device hidden among TV wires in their stateroom last October on the Carnival Fantasy, a three-day Caribbean cruise departing from Mobile, Alabama.

"I said, 'Is that what I think it is?' " Chris White said. "And she looked at it and she became concerned. And we were just really flabbergasted that there's a camera in the room and it's plugged up and it's working."

The couple called Carnival security and used their cellphone to film an employee who inspected and disassembled the device. "I was thinking, 'I can't believe this is actually happening to us,' " he said.

In a statement to USA TODAY, Carnival acknowledged a "video transmitter" was found during a full investigation by the shipboard team, but notes it "was not connected to an electrical source and not capable of recording."

"This is certainly a unique and unusual occurrence and it is unclear who or why this transmitter was placed in the guest’s stateroom," the statement said. "The safety and security of our guests and crew is of paramount importance and we have taken measures so that this sort of situation does not happen again."

Chris White disagreed, making it clear that the device "was a camera. It was wired up. It was working. It was warm to the touch."

Carnival said the transmitter was turned over to the FBI for further inspection, and the Whites were "advised of the involvement with law enforcement." Following standard procedures, the cruise line also notified the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Still, Dana White told Inside Edition that her peace of mind was robbed. "I just immediately felt like we had been invaded; our privacy had been invaded," she said.
