Houston school districts DO NOT have metal detectors. Many of the schools are predominantly black. Here's the commissioner's stance.

Like I said previously. Metal detectors and teachers with guns are no answer for a sick fukk that shoots kids a block a way.

I think many minority kids are use to being bullied or singled out, so they might be used to abuse. Girls are equally as mean to other girls. Not that I'm condoning it but it could be a reason why we see this primarily with white boys.

None of us knew it wasn't a smart thing to do back then. But I think if you ponder it with hindsight whilst looking at how often it actually happens in real life (that a stranger kidnaps a kid) you might agree that there has been no positive benefit from it. No less kidnappings. More paronoid, over protective and guilt ridden parents, and worst of all, outr kids dont get to go play outside alone or walk to school or learn life lessins like we did as kids anymore.

I will say about child abduction back in the 80's,I remember riding my pedal bike with my mates all over town alot of the time with are parents having no clue where we were and no way to get in contact with us,had no cell phones.
