2 years, we still mourn STP frontman Scott Weiland

Arguably the best showman/frontman of the 90's and 00's and one of the best in history

Apparently he felt like there was nothing more to live for?

Being the STP frontman is like being the drummer for Spinal Tap

I liked him. Great band. Check out video of "Sour Girl".

Let's be honest...Scott was flawed (like many of us). Held back the band w/ his addiction problems. Got into a fist-fight w/ one of the DeLaos on-stage during a gig.

That's not the impression I got. He didn't commit suicide. Just wore out his body w/ persistent substance-abuse.

Rec drug use.... almost like playing Russian Roulette. You always need more and more and more to reach the next level of HIGH.

Got a chance to see STP in '97.
Scott was out of his head but it was a great show..
Started the show with him being lowered from the ceiling kicking back in a LayZboy...

So, yeah he was flawed, but the DeLeo's solved their differences with him by teaming up 3 on 1 and being judgmental all the time, I was in a similar situation in my band and didnt work out...

What do you make of STP releasing a new single and announcing a new tour TODAY the SAME VERY FUKKIN DAY Scott died, 2 years ago. I dont like it, very disrespectful and seems they are still riding the wave of the Weiland name as long as they can.

Yeah, he was an awesome performer and a great talent. I got to see STP during one of Weiland's brief "clean" periods, and he put on an amazing show. The truly great bands/singers are even better live, and that definitely rang true for for Scott and STP. I'll never forget that experience.

Great vocals and band.... didn't mean to bad mouth Weiland in my previous post.

Wish the guy could of stayed clean... but couldn't do it.

Weiland was awesome, one of rock's all-time front men. I think his old band was jealous of him, frankly, and that made it easy for the 3-on-1 mentality referenced above. It just wasn't a workable situation. So then he hops into an all-star band and lights it up with Velvet Revolver.

Sucks because he didn't and still doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Hands down STP is my favorite band of all time. Great catalog of music.
