If my neighborhood was in jeopardy of looting, you can bet I'd be on patrol.... but what you fail to realize is that if I just tule around town with a shotgun or two hangin' out the window, someone's gonna mistake me for a looter and start shooting at me, thinkin' i'm the intruder (which, technically, I would be).....

    don't mess with Texas.....

we did come across some methheads from montgomery county posing as "rescuers" that were trying to see if neighborhoods were truly "all evacuated" so they could tie off their boat to a house and break in.... as we weren't packin' firearms, we just tailed them and reported them to the Precinct 4 constable's office, who apprehended them .... Once we gave Johnny Law their registration number off their boat, and their location, it was relatively low hangin' fruit, as there were only two launch spots being used for that neighborhood.... cops traced their registration number from the boat to find a truck/boat trailer registered to the same name, and were there waiting for em.....

but I'm not getting my ass shot off for any half-ass entertainment video.....

I'll stick to a few rub n tug cameos......

yah, h town is done with the rain, tho flood waters remain, most are subsiding. there's still concerns of additional flooding along the rivers (brazos, colorado, san jacinto) and the "controlled" releases from two reservoirs (addicks and barker) that are putting additional homes in jeopardy. but, by and large, houston is getting back on its feet, particularly areas not heavily impacted by the flooding, which of course provides the resources necessary to get the heavily impacted areas back on their feet... (eg., home depots/lowes and grocery stores, etc.)....

here some of the damage to rockport, which took the initial impact down near corpus:

and, of course, my old spring break stompin' grounds of Port A (Port Aransas), which is across the bay from Rockport and flows directly onto Matagorda Island.... Port A, Aransas Pass, and Rockport took 8 plus straight hours of 100 mph sustained winds and gusts to 135-140 mph.....

    Port A, post-harvey:

as bayous around houston continue to drain, law enforcement is finding vehicles washed into them during the worst part of the flooding.... some with bodies in them, unfortunately.....

strong indicator of the dangers of trying to escape by vehicle mid-storm..... sad stories unfolding today around h town.....

That is the worst flooding picture I have ever seen. You gotta wonder how many homes will be declared total losses from the floods. I hope those people had flood insurance otherwise they are fcked.

i did obtain permission to post a photo or two of one "all natural" flood victim we picked up along galveston island.....

she was clearly in shock, and kept mumbling something about "human barbie".........

and don't let the angle of this photo fool you, those were some rough ass waves there behind her in the galveston surf....

and the surf down there is actually bluer than the photo reveals.....

HOLY SHIT.... the old DONKLAND, AKA BAYOU LOFTS, took on water in recent flooding....

that is astounding, given the distance from the bayou and the obvious amount of flooding that downtown htown has sustained....

I lived there, next to hakeem's da'wah center, for seven to eight years, through hurricane ike (not even close to flooding), and never was threatened with flooding at all... for the bayou lofts to have taken on water, a lot of downtown will obviously have been flooded as well, particularly the "underground tunnel system" that thousands of yuppies travel through daily to avoid the outside heat....

    amazing stuff.....

bayou lofts is on the left, brown building, with the cell antenna on top of it......

    article:

    CASUALTY LISTS
Flood-Damaged Buildings Downtown: The List So Far

CITY HALL, the City Hall Annex, the Bayou Lofts, Market Square Tower, The Rice (formerly the Rice Hotel), Hogg Palace, the Theater District and Tranquillity Park parking garages, Bayou Place, the Downtown Aquarium, the Houston Ballet Center, the Wortham Theater Center, Jones Hall, the Alley Theatre, the Hobby Center, and the some of the historic homes in Sam Houston Park are all buildings that were damaged in some way by floodwaters rolling in after Hurricane Harvey’s days-long assault on the city, according to a statement released by the Downtown District today. Damage mostly came from water pouring into first-level or basement spaces, though the building at 1415 Fannin St. did catch on fire.
High water flowed to Downtown’s low points, to the north and west — primarily in the Warehouse, Historic, and Theater Districts. How did the tunnels fare? Only sections adjacent to the Theater District and Civic Center garages were damaged, according to the district.
Other structures that took on water: The Spaghetti Warehouse, the new AIA Houston offices under construction across from that restaurant on Commerce St., the Sunset Coffee Building, the Dakota Lofts, and the Cotton Exchange Building on Travis St. Here’s the complete list (with addresses):

here, you can see bayou lofts footage in better times, aka "The Donk Years", when times were much happier on the rooftop by the rooftop pool:

and one with the city lights of downtown Htown, on a happier night, in the back ground.....

Appreciate it Donk. I really do. I've spent the last day and a half trying to keep water out of neighbor's houses and moving 5 families into my house. The streets all around me are ground zero. I've had helicopters, every type of boat, army, national guard, coast guard, marines, Oklahoma guard, Cajun Navy and hundreds of people that responded to this neighborhood. These dumb asses released a shitload of water from Addicks and it flooded the entire energy corridor. We survived 40 inches of rain but didn't stand a chance with the Core of engineers dumping water without even telling anyone. They even were releasing water last night. How fukking irresponsible. Home owners are pissed. This was not an act of God flood event. This was the city trying to protect a dam by flooding thousands of homes. I had to evacuate all the families today as my property is teetering on flooding. Had a pregnant neighbor, 2 others had sick dogs and one with a heart condition. I also took in some responders from Waco that didn't have a place to lay their heads. The show of support from people all over the country is incredible. I'm riding it out but they continue to release water as I type. Frustrating.

This shit is still insane. The releasing of water fcked stuff up, but I don't know if someone pulled the trigger unneeded, or if the dams were in danger. No clue on that. People who say Houston should have evacuated are crazy. Imagine all the people stuck in their cars with these floods everywhere. This really was the perfect storm, to fck sheet up. Surprised death tolls aren't higher, even as they will rise a bit. Job well done to mitigate the situation by everyone down there.

We will never know. They said that they had to release the dams because they were being overwhelmed. They said it was sacrificing the few to save the many. 3,000 homes is not a few and reports are saying that they may be as high as 100,000. Releasing water at night causing people to panic and evacuate in the dark is criminal. Most of these houses in the energy corridor were spared during 50 inches of unprecedented rain but now days later flooded out during perfect skies because of the city. I think we're going to see thousands of people suing this city for negligence.

and I agree, the best thing Houston mayor did was tell people to NOT evacuate. Almost every death thus far has been people trying to evacuate and in their cars. Where can you evacuate 7 million people? Beaumont, San Antonio? Then have them catch hell a few days later from the same storm. No one knew where Harvey would end up. You cannot evacuate millions of people without knowing where to send them.

I agree wholeheartedly with the intentional flooding of people during the dark hours..... man, that is some messed up shit....

helicopters still flying by my office near cypress creek..... made it to my office, finally, and it did not flood..... water came up to the doors of our building, but didn't make it in..... probably six inches higher and the first floor would've been sunk..... my office is on the second floor, but our lobby and entrance is on the first floor..... very fortunate.....

keep me posted, Mac..... and if looting is a problem, I can come armed to the f'n teeth...... my gun collection qualifies as an arsenal under federal gun laws......
