Went to buy a franck muller gravity watch today. JUST INSANE the watch industry.

Thought i would be okay with 15-18k.

I try on the watch fell in love with it instantly, i look at the price tag and almost fainted.

    $174,399.00CAD

It is the nicest watch ive ever seen. Clearly not in my budget tho.

Think i might buy a really good replica if i can find one.

I think Rolex and Patek are the only two that actually hold value or have a profit for resale after several years. 15+

I don't honestly know how the watch business is still alive. If you ask anyone the time maybe one in a thousand will check their wrist. Everyone else just reaches in their pocket for their phone.

Just for style and show. A friend of mine owns 3 Rolls... all 3 insured. He told me it's like having a diamond... they never lose value.

Personally I've never been a fan of jewelry.... watches etc

I've had the same Nike watch for over 20 plus years. It is waterproof and has a breakproof band. You can wear it while running or swimming. Had battery replaced and band refurbished 3-4 times over 20 + years. I feel naked without wearing it.

Whatever you do don't buy a replica.

Wearing a fake in the watch community is equivalent to being a stiff in the gambling community, or being a snitch in the drug community. You'll be ridiculed to no end and ostracized if anyone ever finds out and watch guys will know right away.

If you can only afford to spend 18 Grand I would say go with a two-tone Rolex for about 13 to 18 depending on the model.

There are a lot of high-end fakes out there so as with anything luxury going straight to the dealer pays off in the long run.

I myself have a blue two tone Submariner that I purchased new last year.
