    Windows 10 or Windows 7

My computer died a couple of days ago and I bought another one from Dell.

The new one, like most PCs, comes with Windows 10.

** Should I keep Windows 10 or should I try to roll it back to Windows 7?

I am used to Windows 7 and the new interface looks too convoluted.

It isn't a touch screen if that makes a difference. I am also not computer savvy as evidenced by this post.

    Thanks in advance.

Felt exactly the same way but you will be nagged/tricked to upgrade until you are sick of it or get tricked and end up doing it anyway.

I still find 10 annoying. In no small part that the start menu is all graphical. slow, inserts shit it wants to me to buy, isnt big enough to show all the programs I want without scrolling and isnt customizable the way i want. And still bugs after months.

But honestly it's not too difficult to move across from 7 to. Win8 was the dogs breakfast one.

Windows 10 sucks. Slow and has many problems. My laptop had the free VLC media player installed for DVD play and it doesn't work. Windows media player won't play dvds. Optional is right though, Microsoft wants you to have 10 and that's what they will make you have by phasing out the others over time.

I hate the idea of not having VLC. I don't like the idea of my Office 2007 not being supported as well. Win 7 will be supported until 2020.

    I think I will go with 7.

Worst case scenario, the default OS on a system reinstall is 10. I don't think the 30 day rule applies to preinstalled versions.

If 7 works out, I plan to partition my HD and learn linux.

penetrate windows 10. I updated to that for around 5 minutes, and ran back to 7. The only additions were shit I wouldn't use anyway. Who needs a virtual assistant on a desktop computer. And its slower than windows 7. The only thing I was looking to see was if office updated, which it doesn't.

I just gave up and paid the 80 bucks a year for the latest office.

But I liked Outlook 2007 better.

I just meant I think it is stupid to not let WMP play dvds. To rely on VLC to do it is dumb to me. My problem is just the VLC installed was bad.

You guys who fall for the the windows upgrade scam need to stop..

You need a system powerful enough to support an upgrade..
    Otherwise your computer will crawl.......
