Drs are in a tough spot anymore some people have legitimate pain while others are just abusers who sometimes get what they deserve. I think this is especially true with movie music sports stars. I'd bet but may be wrong drunk drivers kill and injure more folks than opioids. I get 60 Xanax a month for Ménière's disease yet you don't see me eating 10 at a time to get high. Why shouldn't patients be responsible for their own actions.

Yes I agree it's a big problem with opioids but you know what those same people would just find another drug to get high if they couldn't get the pills. People need to take responsibility for their own actions not everything is someone else's fault

Yes, the doctors and manufactures should be held responsible.

1. they are addictive

2. they way over prescribe them, when they arent really needed(they give Oxycontins for minor back pain)

3. the pills are faulty to begin with. you gain a tolerance to them so you have to take more and more to get the same relief....then you OD.

I think they need to ban them all together. No one needs them unless they have a terminal disease.

And don't give me some people really need them. I had a bad back for 6 years before the disc finally ruptured and never took a single pain pill and couldnt walk many time. Stop being a bitch

There is a lady who just got a life sentence for this shit here in LA.
Certain things trigger addictive behavior in people. Some people can take a drink and never have a problem while others become raving drunks. Same thing with opiates. I have taken pain pills and never had the urge to take another one. My brother on the other hand battled an opiate addiction after a pretty serious injury. He died of an overdose a few weeks ago. Went to rehab because he was sick of the hamster wheel and slipped up once. Paid the ultimate price.

The cartels have flooded the market with cheap heroin to offer an alternative to the pills. The Chinese are flooding the market with fentanyl. A lot of people are dying unnecessarily.

Not necessarily the Dr's fault but we have to do something about it.

Doctors are one of the few professions where we really don't challenge their advice. We just say "Well okay - my Dr. says I need it". They hook hundreds of thousands of people on drugs that they don't need and that can kill them. It's insane.
