Has anybody bought cars from a Impound Auction? Is it safe?

I have seen some guy buy cars for $3k with good milage and a good year.
I got a new job but I want to go cheap as I'm a SBR member and I have to represent.

I've never been to one so I don't know the guidelines and don't know what makes it rigged. But from what I understand, it's more of a auction like the show, "Storage Wars".

    then youre good.

by rigged i meant people that know people running the auction so they tell them what the top sealed bid is, then they just outbid it by a little and get car. thats back in the day tho. i woudnt even know how to find one of these, i would guess any auctions that are easy to find prob stink value wise.

also knew a guy who knew a guy said he used to work at one of these and would open the door panels of impounded cars and find drugs, so if you win pop those panels off you might strike gold.
