I know a couple posters do, LB.

They should probably be the ones to check in though.

No and I have never been there.

I did hear that they will be legalizing recreational marijuana use in 2016.

Them along with Arizona, Idaho, Wyoming, and California and Massachusetts and Maine and Vermont. Possibly Florida and Texas and North Carolina

My father lives there. No idea why. It's like the movie "The Hills Have Eyes".

New Mexico would be considered Southwest.

Midwest would be St Louis, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee etc....

I do a bit of work in Santa Fe and am there often. Not sure I could live there full time, but I enjoy the time I spend there.

New Mexico is a dump. Poor former oil towns, terrible customer service everywhere you go. If you are a fan of hiking and checking out natural wonders, they have it. Worst state I've ever been to. ABQ is a shit hole, but kind of cool when you drive into it at night. Just a shit load of lights in the middle of nowhere.

Took a solo trip a few years ago and drove all over NM. Loved it. It's almost like everthing you don't want to show people is right off of I-40, which everyone drives. ABQ, Gallup, Tucumcari, zzzzzzzzzzz.

Santa Fe/Taos is great. The southern part of the state is really the hidden gem. White Sands NP, Las Cruces, Ruidoso, Almogordo, some real cool shit out there and great food. Liked the people too. Kooky, in a good way.

But yeah, if your outlook on NM is what you see of of Highway 40, you're not going to be too impressed.

Exactly! I never thought much of it because I only travelled the state on I-40. Once I got off and saw more of the state the more I enjoyed it.

You've got to have some appreciation for the desert which is not for everybody. They've got some awesome gigantic cloud formations there. Best clouds on planet earth.
