DirecTV Changes A Few Packages Around... Just Got My Newest Bill

Apparently they are trying to get some of the money back from AMC's "The Walking Dead" new contract. If you want to watch the walking dead... the package is priced at $70.99 a month now.

You can downgrade to the $59.99 package after the season is over... you'll lose about 10 channels including... ESPN News, and your own FOX Sports channel in your area. What a rigged sh#$hole life is. I use to love DirecTV... now I'm not so sure.

Now with internet and TV I'm paying $91.99 a month. That's too much.

My limit is $85.00 and lower.

Cancel it. I only need cable Sept-Feb. Besides that, don't watch it at all. Love Time Warner; no contracts. Can shut that shit off 6 months a year

i dropped them about 6months ago... went with dish

for a solid year, for some reason, every single fukking month, my bill would change.. i would have to call and talk to someone and get it situated... i think it was around $105 was my set price...id been with them forever... it would go from 131 to 126 to 135 etc.. and it sucked to have to call every month to get it back to where it was...finally said fukk it.. i think there are a few sports networks that i dont get now with dish, and memorizing channels was a hassle for a while, but not its $103 and there is no difference in anything...

now that ive been away from dtv for 6 months, they have started calling offering me new deals and shit... they couldnt give any type of new deal when i had issues, but now they can.. fukk them

timewarner/comcast whatever cable provider is in your are, are dog shit too... awful customer service and awful downtime when something fukks up... go dish or look into uverse

money you should look into amazon fire tv with xbmc on it(jailbroken fire tv)...essentially a hacked fire tv, has everything you could need, movies tv shows dating back to your birth even....sports offerings are a bit lacking but there are streaming sites poping up there where you pay like $15-20 a month to stream the sports you want, should have a look around on ebay....highly recommended and will save you a bundle....

We cancelled all TV when we moved, now pay $29/month for internet and $8/month for Netflix. Rarely watch TV anyhow, no point in paying an extra $70 or $80 /month

They're crooks but so are 99% of companies these days....I like directv better than any other cable by far I've had so I just bend over and deal with their BS....The money doesn't bother me I just hate the games, but it seems like everyone now a days plays these games too

I've had them give me Sunday ticket for free or a huge discount for like the last 5 years so I guess I'm winning overall...atleast that's how I try to look at it

    Cheap fukks

Internet alone is worth $85 per month

Anyone who isn't willing to pay $3 a day for something we are constantly using is also the same person who wastes a lot more on things that are completely unnecessary

I'm getting sick of DirecTV, too. The only good thing about DirecTV is the NFL Ticket.

I'm in LA and can't get Dodgers games or Pac-12 sports out here.

I'm actually thinking about going back to Time Warner, and I hated Time Warner.

I just gave Verizon fios & their $53/month for internet the boot, now paying $10/month with Comcast.

My directv contract ends soon on 3/28, at which time I'll be an unrestricted free agent. So I'll be giving the unlocked & loaded Firetv stick a try, for a low one time fee. After all, Gary Busey swears by it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHoNQrxG_8M

hah.. busey cracks me up on the commercials....

you can literally stream from the computer, just about every sporting event live, tv shows a few minutes after they finish and new movie dvdrips a few days to a week after release ... and all you need is a usb hook up from your laptop to tv in order to watch the streams on the tv...there really is no need to pay anyone for anything... well, except the internet... you gotta pay for that

Go with DISH. I pay $71/month but could probably get away with a smaller package and I certainly don't need the three EPIX movie channels we get. But for less than $2.50/day I have lots of TV options.

It's all good PT LOL I'm just being dumb with it LOL I remember back about 3 months ago DirecTV said they would have the Walking Dead and prices wouldn't increase... they didn't like AMC flashing their advertisements while Walking Dead was in progress telling people to call DirecTV up and bitch and complain. DirecTV handles network contracts... sort of fascinating in a way... they play hardball. They told Weather Channel to go Fuk themselves... called their bluff... and Weather Channel went off the air for at least 60 days on DirecTV. Then, Weather Channel lowered the contact price... apparently? Because they were back on. Funny how these networks play hardball. It's fukking TV for gods sake.

BW How the heck are you paying only $10? Lowest I paid ever was $19.99

I gave Dish a try about 7-8 years ago... At that time... they didn't have anything remotely close "price wise" for a person who's a sports fanatic.

It's called Comcast Internet Essentials. If you have a child in school you should qualify, as the school sent the info home with child. It's great, can't even tell the difference in speed from Verizon Fios.

Can you get away with the firetv stick, what advantages does the box have over the stick?

Sounds like all you need is jailbroken & loaded with kodi xbmc, is this true? The stick is cheaper than box & would be more portable than box, so why is box more expensive?

it's intended for low-income families, providing subsidized internet to help them provide internet access to children. If you have $30k in a sportsbook and you're taking subsidies for your internet, you're part of the welfare problem

Correct...it's not in the rules, and you're not breaking any laws; you're simply applying for cheaper internet intended to help those who can't afford it, when you can afford it (maybe not much else, but internet for sure). Not breaking rules, but taking advantage of the system to eek out a tiny advantage at others expense - called angle-shooting, and nothing new from you. Guess that debunks your "retirement" claims though, pretty clear it's just "unemployed".

Hard to be jealous of your fabulous unemployed lifestyle when most of us here could be there in seconds if we chose to. Be thankful we don't, otherwise there'd be fewer people to subsidize your welfare benefits

Booby is clearly abusing the system

If your income is low enough and you live in a participating state, there are also a number of programs that offer low-cost high-speed Internet services. One that's most fitting for financially challenged seniors is CenturyLink's Internet Basics program, which is available in 37 states. This program offers high-speed DSL Internet service for just $10 a month for the first year ($21/month afterwards). It also offers offer a personal computer for just $150 and free introductory computer classes. To qualify, you'll need to show that you're receiving certain types of government benefits, such as Medicaid, Food Stamps, SSI, home energy assistance or public housing assistance. Or, that your household income is at or below 135, 150 or 175 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines -- it varies by state.
There are other programs available that serve additional states, like Internet Essentials offered by Comcast and Connect2Compete, but to be eligible you must have a child or grandchild who lives in your house that participates in the national school lunch program. Both of these programs offer Internet home service for $10/month and a $150 personal computer.
Also, stay tuned for the government's Lifeline Broadband Program that could soon be offering income-qualified citizens across the country, high-speed home Internet services for a low cost. To find out more about all of these programs, visit cheapinternet.com.

A strong accusation? You're the one who's bragging about a subsidized internet rate available only to low-income families. If you qualify for that, and you don't work, it's not much of a leap to say your retirement is welfare of some sort. I don't know what the specifics are, maybe it's disability...points remain though: 1) you're not "retired" in any way that's significantly different from any of us quitting our jobs and getting welfare, and 2) you're taking advantage of at least subsidized internet, and assuming there's something someone would hire you for, your "choice" to not work means you're deliberately mooching off society.

If you're looking for a bet, I already asked you if you wanted to bet on yourself in your poker contest with Donk...but despite your supposed confidence, you seem strangely hesitant to bet

my question is why dont u just pay for airfare and fly out to Vegas to bet?

its going to take you a long time to collect 30K from an online sportsbook.

    max m o n e y g r a m transfer is usually under $1,000

    and checks are sketchy
