It's amazing and revealing of the ranges that people are capable of. It's chilling.

Strange thing about it was that they were clearly affected but you know if they had it to do all over again, they'd still do it.

The scene where Anwar Congo (I think it was him) was demonstrating how he used to use the wire to kill people (because there would be less blood compared to the other ways) was amazing. He's watching it with his grandkids, and his only comment is "I would have never worn white pants".

Yeah. I think that was more about realism though. His collapsing during the scene and wretching at the end amazed me.

I kept thinking back to Dostoyevsky's Crime & Punishment. The punishment even without the incarceration by the state. Wrong is still wrong type theme.

That documentary is classic of what I love about docs. I was thinking the concept was ridiculous and probably not going to be worth watching and yet it worked perfectly. You can never judge by the subject matter about a doc because the filmmakers come up with some amazing presentations that you never would have thought interesting. I'll always give a well-reviewed doc a look.

I had the same thought. The concept seemed like it would fail right out of the gate.

Not sure if this is on the list, but this doc surprised me (which is a good thing)
