Can't believe how many myopic "Republicans" were calling this guy a hero not too long ago.

Bob Schieffer should get an award for professionalism after this interview.

For those who aren't going to watch the video:

Ted Cruz says he didn't shut down the government, the democrats did. He then goes on a rant about the debt, and ignores the fact that he damn near singlehandedly cost Americans around $25 billion.

Schieffer tries his best not to laugh in Ted's face.

There are some insane nuggets in there that are worth the watch alone.

I think human consciousness, is a tragic misstep in evolution.

We became too self-aware,

nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself,

we are creatures that should not exist by natural law.

We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self;

an accretion of sensory, experience and feeling,

programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody,

when in fact everybody is nobody.

Maybe the honorable thing for our species to do is deny our programming,

stop reproducing,

walk hand in hand into extinction,

one last midnight,

brothers and sisters opting out of a raw deal.
