    Jump Street vs. Late Registration

Talking poker tournys here for those that cant grasp the thread title. Pretty aggravating when you post up for a tourny and an hour + into it people can still late register.

Whats the strategy here? Hellmuth style or grind from the start

I always would rather grind from the start, can just fold if you wanna play it safe and wait for big hands. Still a chance you go out early but more hands lends to more opportunities to accumulate chips.

Was thinking about this myself two days ago.

Where I'll go play they have a tourney that with the fast blind increases is basically set to run for 2.5 hours. They allow entries up to 1 hour into the tourney... at which point you buy-in with 13 big blinds. I'm one to start as early as possible.

on first break now (1 hr in) chip leader has 14k, i have 5.5k.......everyone started w/ 2klate reg is still good for next 30 min....dosnt seem smart to late reg unless your actually running a lil late, like 10-15mins late. Makes zero sense to jump in now right?

some positives to getting there late, I suppose. people are tilting when you show up and may donk off the remaining of their stack to you. And they don't have a read on you after sitting there so long with each other and now it's time to make moves for them with no info on you.
