    Time to take my shot?

Here it is guys. Worked for my parents for 12 ish years and lived in their house.... Last night shit hit the fan. Going in too late they said, job gone and moving out first thing in the morning end result after arguments . To my name a bit over 10k no place to live no vehicle. Other cash I have tied up in legal mumbojumbo for around another year. Already looked into local hotels found one for around 200 a week, think I will stay there for a week or two until I decide what the plan is.

Obviously gonna be reloading first thing after I get situated and start to focus on sports wagering. Career I am no good I'd say - 35-45k over 10ish years but I have had some sick runs 100 to 10k , 100 to 9 k 50 to 5kish ect ect... all only over a week or two. Though I would keep pressing and eventually lose it all. If I need this money to live on instead of entertainment value I think I will be able to control myself far better, press less and be smarter. I am confident in my capping abilities, particularly in college basketball.

Also weighting the option of a move thinking vegas, colorado( poker and legal herb), nj( online poker).

Hey man, not a bad plan. But I'd recommend trying to find a place to rent for 350-500 a month depending on where you live at. Hotel isn't bad until you can get your shit together. And honestly 10K ain't that much to try and go and move to Vegas or even try to make it big without some risks. Maybe try and get a part time job anywhere you feel cool about just to have some extra $ to pay bills or pay hotel costs. Once you get down to a few K you better start thinking about some alternative plans. Good luck to you. Hit some big games this week!

Thanks Kerr, added I have a nice cash infusion coming in a year. So not sure if a move is out of the question. Maybe use the 10k to get situated in a new city. Believe me I know 10k is chicken feed.

ND man, that's a tough situation. Not sure what happened or whether you want your job back after everything but I'd try to patch things up with your family at some point. Could move to another city for awhile, somewhere where online poker and medial marijuana are and get a fresh start and a clean slate.

It sounds like it is DEFINITELY time for you to take your shot. I started off w/ $5k this season and ran it up to over $40,000. Been on a downswing this last month and have given most of it back. I will be back up though, it is just a matter of patience. I will share with you this… when I first started off winning and making good money…I began to increase my spending habits. Like going out to eat everyday….buying $500 sunglasses….. $700 pen etc. Now that I lost all of that money I sort of regret spending so extravagantly. In the end, if you are disciplined and have good bankroll management skills you will be able to survive the ups and downs. Despite my recent downswing, I can tell you with 100% confidence that being a professional ‘capper and sports bettor is the most satisfying job I have ever had. Nothing like waking up in the morning looking at trend sheets, historical outcomes, angle prep sheets....and saying OK I’m moving 2 units on here 1 unit there….4 units here…etc and then watching games all day and seeing your account increase just because your prediction was right. Then going to a store to pick up some cash or going to deposit a big check hoping the clerk doesn’t say anything….lol.

PS- I played poker in CO quite a few times visiting friends out there.... and the pots/limits are small potatoes. No way you can make any sort of income playing poker live there. Vegas has plenty of poker rooms/tournies.... cheap apartments.... sportbooks where u can put cash in/ get cash out in a manner of minutes and watch all the games....and they are fairly lenient on small amounts of marijuana.

Lotta hope going on in this statement. Big red flag for me. On your own, and depending on yourself, you're gonna be under more pressure (most of it self made) than you have ever experienced gambling before. You mind will work and see things differently.

Find steady work. Enough to cover ALL living expenses you have. Then bring the gambling into the picture. Don't make gambling income the income base of your life. No need to jump into the deep end of the pool to start your new life.

move to vegas and live at hooters or circus circus til you get situated.

there are a ton of jobs in vegas.

i'd recommend working for a timeshare and going up and down the strip
offering free show tickets to people in exchange for them listening to a timeshare presentation

I love how numerous people mentioned "legal herb" as being paramount when choosing a place to live.

If you're hitting the road with 10k, and no car.....you might want to rethink exactly where "herb" fits within your priorities.

    Good luck.

Online poker is dead, Colorado poker has limits it's peanut money.

And instead of doing a 200 weekly you should go on c-list and rent a room from someone. You can probly find rent for half that depending on where you live.
Coin flip for it being a weirdo you rent from, but you like gambling anyways.

ZERO jobs in Vegas BigBear, do your homework.
#1 unemployment % in the country right now.
Timeshare in Vegas now is awful also.
Ppl used to make a killing when it was hot, now they make pennies doing it. Flooded the market and it died.

I/O-Didn't care if i lost before, had the steady job no worries. The extra pressure will help me not make dumb moves I hope.

Opie- Tired of being hassled about it, would be nice but still not putting too much into it. Will find herb anywhere.

Colorado poker games bit juicier than most of you on here think. I have done the research but wasn't planning the move to there or Vegas till a year from now when the cash infusion is coming in.

About to walk to the bank set up my first account of all time, come finish packing then I will be off to the hotel boys. With a stop for herb, beer, xanax and to deposit along the way. Hotel pretty far not pumped about a 4-5 mile walk, may have to try the local bus system for the first time.

Any part-time job you can land here is going to be very little pay, no benefits for many years, and have big potential for layoffs.

Casino jobs are pretty scarce right now unless you wanna clean toilets or make $10 n hour in Security.

No, any job you get will most likely not have them offered to you for quite some time regardless. The casinos lose full time employees now and don't even replace them. They just keep overstaffed part-timers and save tons of money being greedy and not offering those employees anything. Every casino on the strip made money last quarter except for 1 (Cosmopolitan), yet they still cry and bitch and defend not taking care of their employees.

As u said just be smart with ur money buddy. I wouldn't play too conservative all the time, maybe 1 big shot with a few grand on a game u think is a great valued play, and then slow it way down. Being very smart with money when u have 10k or 2k is the key to being successful in this game. Only way I thrived is when I learned that lesson after years of losing overall for years. An only gamble at what u are very good at which usually is 1 maybe 2 sports max.

And I also agree with other poster , is there any way at all to patch up with ur parents? Even if its just til u get ur big cash infusion in the next year?
