    What is your favorite Soup?

I'm a big soup drinker and usually try to have a bowl every other day whether its at home or at a diner. Enjoying a bowl of chicken noodle as I type this. My personal favorite is cream of mushroom and brocolli. What is yours?

Best soup I ever ate was in Italy.

    In Tuscany.

Wild mushroom soup with wild boar.

Like all different soups really though.

    Let's see....

    She-Crab

    Lobster bisque

    Stracciatella

    Zuppa Di Farro Primavera

    Zuppa Di Ceci

There's this place me and my friends go when we're hung over. Little spot in Chinatown.

They make this soup, don't know what the fukk it is but it's really good and gets rid of your hangover headache.

Another great soup is a fresh porcini mushroom soup...a very popular choice in Russia during the summer time when the mushroom hunting is good.

I actually own a crock pot as well however the only thing I really use it for in terms of soup is Lentil soup. In terms of homemade soups Lentil tops the list, especially red Lentil.

Cream of Broccoli or Wonton Soup if it is a restaurant I have never been to or some chain restaurant, because they are never bad (exception Outback Steakhouse they have good French Onion soup). French Onion soup for my soup I will get at a restaurant that I know it is good at and with someone I don't mind looking like an idiot in front of.

What is fukking awesome is Lobster Bisque in a sour dough bread bowl at Red Lobster. The bread soaks up the Bisque. That entire thing is a meal in itself. I love it.

Lobster Bisque is the absolute nuts.
Or a lightly spicy shrimp-loaded gumbo.

You have to make these things yourself most of the time for the best results because restaurants are so cheap putting the meat in them.

one of my favs is my coconut chicken soup. It super easy and tastes fukking great

    • get a crock pot
    • add one chicken breast
    • add 2 cans of chopped tomatoes
    • one diced onion
    • diced celery
    • a whole clove of garlic
    • some tumeric spice
    • a splash of vinegar
    • one fresh lime or lemon
    • a dash of 5 spice
    • salt
    • pepper
    • paprika
    • chili flakes
    • extra virgin olive oil
    • a splash of sesame oil

turn crock pot on low for 6 hours.

the chicken will fall apart when you poke it with fork. Turn of the slow cooker. Break up the chicken breast in the pot and add one or 2 cans of coconut milk. Let it sit for half hour.

Serve over rice or just eat it like a soup. Garnish with some chopped cilantro and/or some toasted coconut flakes.

Yummy! I make it all the time.

I made a pollo en salsa blanca con hongos last night (chicken in white sauce with mushrooms). Was absolutely delicious.

1 cup of heavy whipping cream
1 dry packet of Maggi Crema de Hongos (look in mexican section for this, it's a powder):

Preheat oven to 400F. Dump the contents of the packet of crema de hongos into your blender along with the cup of heavy whipping cream. Blend together. You can also just whisk them together. Pour this into a pyrex casserole dish. Add in your chicken breasts or thighs, slice up some mushrooms and place into casserole dish. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about an hour.

Absolutely delicious. I made some homemade mashed potatoes, and the sauce from this made a perfect gravy.

Also for those of you looking to eat a lighter breakfast in the morning I have come to realize over the years a bowl of soup with a slice of bread makes a great breakfast.
