US spying at all levels:
Journalist

An American journalist said on Monday that the U.S. intelligence agencies are spying at all levels and on everyone, including on heads of states.

“There is spying going on at all levels, involving even heads of states and foreign ministers and finance ministers, which will be controversial,” Brent Budowsky, a columnist at The Hill, told Press TV.

Leaked documents have shown that U.S. spies based in Britain intercepted top-secret communications of former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev during his visit to London for the G20 summit in 2009.

The documents disclosed by American whistleblower Edward Snowden to The Guardian show the National Security Agency intercepted communications from Medvedev’s delegation on April 1, 2009, the same day former Russian president arrived in London for the summit.

According to the documents, the U.S. spy agency later on shared the details with high-ranking officials from Britain, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

Medvedev’s communications were intercepted hours after U.S. President Barack Obama and Medvedev had met for the first time, The Guardian reported.

Budowsky said that “fundamentally, everybody seems to be spying on everybody, and it seems to be no level, they’re spying on average folks, they’re spying on dissidents, they’re spying even on heads of states.”
