Ironic you should post that, I just spend 45 minutes cleaning my other bathroom, the one I use the most next to my office/spare bedroom.
The toilet is a piece of cake to clean, porcelain is easy, it's that light film on the sides of the bathtub that's a pain in the ass.
Right now my toilet is almost minty fresh, almost. I'll post a pic later.

You know me too well Daggles, it's scary, it's like you and i are one.

    From eight years ago.
The "Late, great" Zippy, with Cooper "The Wonder Dog" at Lake Mohegan with two playmates.
Coop is looking at the big black dog saying "Come on, let's rock and roll", the big white do is looking at the black dog and saying "OK, cool, I'm in for whatever", and Zippy. well, Zippy is in Zippy land, Zippy always was in Zippy land, filled with unicorns and lollipops, actually by the looks of Zippy's tail, and his expression, I think he spots a squirrel in the woods or some other critter Zip loved to chase.

That was the golden age for me, me, Zip, and Coop at Lake Mohegan for a good couple of hours or more,
Zip is gone, Coop is almost 20 and knocking on heavens door.
God Bless Tessie Dog, our next gen third generations pupster.

I had a raisin bagel for breakfast with strawberry preserves and cream cheese.

I'm feeling noodles for dinner, I have some alfredo sauce I need to use, it only has about a week of shelf life left. The alfredo sauce is still very good, but if that sits in the fridge for more than a week it'll start turning green.

Here's a tip for all the boys and girls out there, if your cheeses or sauces aren't a natural green, please don't eat it. if you do you may see strange colors and weird stuff may happen, like the flowers on the wallpapers may open and close, "the colors man, the colors"

Outside of that, you can't go wrong with cheese, like bacon, you can never go wrong with bacon.

QM seems a lot more complex than the internet and web but there was the same lack of widespread knowledge, resources and tools to make it accessible at first. But a decade later all that was more than resolved. I'd think it would evolve similarly if an evolutionary quantum computer solution suddenly became accessible to the masses.
Not sure how accessible it will be to the masses. Must have been an interesting time, the early days of the internet. I see quantum computers more like supercomputers for special applications and not personal computers that will be in wide use. Everyday people right now don't directly use supercomputers but consume the output of weather forecasts, covid research, and other things that supercomputers do. Maybe it will be similar with QCs where the benefit will be felt by the masses. Maybe something like you wear a medical device that collects data, then bring it into the doctor's office. The doctor sends the data to diseasepredictions.com which is powered by a quantum computer and can be used to detect early diseases. Maybe the consumer interacts with businesses that use quantum computers.

My original statement wasn't the most insightful, after research, now thinking the most popular future QC use will be an on-demand cloud-based model where you pay by the compute time in seconds. This is already around, maybe it will become more accessible once pricing comes down. Most organizations probably won't own their own QC unless they are a big organization or research facility. When prices come down on the cloud and the software to interact with QC matures, it seems more feasible that it could be more popular in the business world. Maybe there will be cloud-agnostic, computer-agnostic software libraries that will be developed. Running your machine learning workload would be interchangeable between traditional and quantum computers, it would just be an option you selected in AWS and higher costs. Even if businesses aren't using QCs for special applications, they could probably benefit from the increased performance of QCs and lower processing time for general purpose workloads.

I missed some of the quantum computer discussion, I’ll get back to it.

Wolf isn’t wrong there’s a long way to go, but they sure are tackling the problems from multiple angles and multiple different ways.

That basically did not happen with conventional computers, there really is only one way to make processor, etc.

I think the biggest obstacle here is decoherence and it’s my guess the answer is going to come from the material sciences departments.

Definitely a long way to go but the potential is amazing.

Exploiting the spooky action at a distance is so futuristic.

It almost feels like you are describing a Big Brother-esque scenario with a few giants like Amazon controlling the access to all of our high end computing power. The power Facebook and Twitter have, on steroids.

If it goes that way it will be like circling all the way back to the start of the computing revolution with IBM mainframes accessed by dumb terminals.

Not saying you are not right. But at first thought that scenario sounds backward and potentially dangerous to me.

It was awesome being around at the birth of the web. No courses to learn what to do, and no one knew the limits of what could be done. There were no tools to make it easy for anyone not really committed to being a part of it to muscle in. It gave me a small insight into what Linus Torvalis meant when he said he felt like a god when creating code.

I have been super lucky with my timing in life being there at the start of things. First time was a couple of years after leaving school the IBM PC first came out. I had a panic moment that I had made a bad career choice and all the kids behind me would be learning about computers in school and I would be left way behind. So I walked into one of the first IBM pc dealers in Australia and convinced them to give me a job as a service technician of all things. Long story short, I was actually in at the very ground level and that made it very easy to progress fast. The greed is good 80s were great to me just by being in the right place at the right time.

Next time was taking a sales manager job at a company who had the local rights to distribute Racal products, which was pretty much the first mobile phones down here. We could barely ship them fast enough without even having to sell anything for a few years.

Then the internet came and I managed to get a job at Microsoft supporting their X25 MSN network in Australia and from there managed to get picked up by the govt telecom company to help setup a support department for their first ISP service. A couple of years later I learned enough and started sitting in desk at home in my underwear being a "webmaster". Again, at a time people would throw money at anyone who even sounded like they knew anything about web commerce and traffic generation. Haven't had a "real" job ever since. Not in this century. Didn't parlay any of that into being super rich but feel blessed by the quality of life being in the right places at the right times has gifted me.

If you can see the value in quantum computing before most others, jump in and ride that wave as it sure sounds like another of those major tech based world changing things like my three.
