    My bad, missed this post.

    Razor sharp number.
Inclined to go over when in doubt and I am in doubt.

Bucks -5 is also a small lean, and I mean small lean.

    Great tune nasher......great tune.

I think the Bucks clamp down on D tonight, but no idea, I'm not an NBA guy. Probably a no play for me.

Need the flying Dutchmen to hang on to a 2-0 lead here.....

I do use pandas and a little bit of tensorflow but not much. Honestly its just python scrapers --> Mysql. Then some python scripts that aggregate things, season totals, player totals, team totals, trends, etc. I use grafana with a mysql plugin to visualize the data.

Not much going on in MLB right now, moving my old scrapers from bash to python for ncaaf and ncaab, so that's been eating up my spare time lately and MLB gets to sit on the sideline this year.

Python already has a shitload of libraries for data analysis, makes life really easy. I occasionally get jupyter notebooks involved for some matplotlib stuff.....I should probably move to R at some point but it works for now

You wager got steamed up to -260 as stated here in post #120275

    https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...oes-p3438.html

Yes is graded as a winner.
20 bet points at -260 pays 7.6 bet points.
Since the bookie (me) is feeling benevolent today, I'll round up and award 8 bet points in this instance.

    Nice hit.
They should all be this easy.

And if you don't really need the eight BP's maybe you can ship the off to Big Day and Angelman.
I mean every bit counts, right?

i've been meaning to check out grafana, i hear it's good. "season averages and totals can only get you so far."

from what i've been researching, the industry is moving away from R and towards python. I do not plan to learn R and am sticking with python.

not sure how far along you are in the data science journey, but you sound like where I was. I was trying to read tutorials online and there were too many gaps. This book helped me build a model, understand what I need to know, everything from start to finish. It is not a deep dive into mathematics and theory, but teaches you what you need to know to quickly build models and when to use which models. This book gave me the minimal understanding that I needed.

Bought that book about a year ago (or whenever the update version came out). Can confirm it's very good.

Right now I'm moreso at reorganizing code and my DB's.

    But yeah, great book.

Nasher I have another proposition for you.

You like the over in the bucks tonight, I like the under. I think that's around 220, 221 ish. Whatever it is (use whatever odds you like), I'll take the under, you take the over. No juice. Loser donates 100 betpoints to the KVB Charity fund.

Let me know if you're in. I'll be in and out here before the game starts but whatever number you have if you agree, I'm in.

It's my belief that that sharper portion of the market is on the UNDER here.

Also, the KVB Charity Fund is always accepting donations. KVB will be happy to hear he is getting points back for some recent donation toppings this month.

KVB has been released from any duty to donate those points as there is no pending charity drive, and gladly accepts his next meal via points due to the recent market downturn.
