(POLL) Would you take this discount?

I am looking to purchase an item online for around $1000 and after searching for coupons I see there is a 5% off coupon code for Police, Military, and Teachers.

I plug in this code to see what happens and with no verification it gives me 5% off.

I am none of the above. Would you take the discount?

We all know furniture is marked way up, and they are already screwing me on shipping.

However while I have no particular affinity for Police that I have known, and many Teachers are scumbags, I feel a bit bad about the Military part.

What Would Players Talk Do (WWPD)?

(Vote for what you would do in my position, not because you are in one of these professions)

if you are the kind of guy that would bet the "when will JJGold next post" prop in the sbr book a few hours before it was due to be graded, or you take that 5%

you might deal with the wrath of Shari and get a tongue lashing

fukk that, use the code. It's what you deserve for searching so hard. If the company gave to shits, they'd make you verify.

    It is fraud.

Up to you whether you are happy to commit a criminal offence for $50.00.

the fact that you are questioning it, you shouldn't use it. Why you might ask, because of karma. I don't believe in karma, but you are asking about something like this, so you probably believe in karma, which means karma is true for you. So if I was you, i wouldn't use it.

I would use it... would think of it as a rebate on a past BS traffic ticket I got (when I already pay their salary with my tax dollars)... I rolled through a stop sign, really? the whole time there is an illegal alien selling flowers on the curb... go F* yourself.

It isn't the act of impersonating a teacher that is the problem. It is that you are gaining an advantage by doing so that is.

Fraud is gaining an advantage by deception.

The discount is obviously not for everyone to use and is limited to teachers, military and police.

The fact that you are gaining a $50.00 advantage by deceiving the company into believing you are eligible for one is fraud.

Don't know the small print, but if it just lists the those three, you can easily make an argument that whatever your profession is, deals with teaching, and therefore making you valid for the discount.

Fukk other people's morals. They live with their own decisions. You make your own decisions and live With either the consequences or rewards. But don't allow anyone to tell you it's morally wrong.

Me, ya I'm typing in the fukking code and getting my discount. Anyways, I once taught my brother to throw a baseball, so maybe they should be more specific. I also police my own fukking house.

I have no doubt the advice would be to plead guilty.

It isn't considered any differently than taking a dodgy $50 voucher into the same store. (Fine print aside, but I would think it is limited to actual teachers, police or military personnel). That being said, the chances of being prosecuted for this are slim to none.

If it were just military I probably would not have even thought about it. When they include police and teachers (come on) it makes it much easier IMO

    Lol @ prosecuted

I don't think you live in he real world.

People try to pull shit all the time and there's zero chance anyone would get the law involved in something like this.

    Zero chance.

Use the code. Once they process it... they can't reverse it. Too many processing percentages on their CC merchant account to do it... not worth it to the company. Go for it. Honestly... 5% off doesn't kill a company.

    WTF? The law getting involved

I can guarantee you this business will be thrilled to sell a thousand dollars in furniture and give you the fukking 5% discount just for the sale. That doesn't even cover taxes. Unreal.

Try this. Call the manager and tell him you don't qualify for the 5% discount you found online as you're not a teacher, police officer or in the military. However you really want to buy the furniture and the only way this will happen is if they extend the same 5% discount to you. If not, you're going to go elsewhere.

And see what he says. 110% he's giving you the fukking discount.
