Rod Stewart was worried. If he was going to use cocaine, he might hurt his signature singing voice and cause damage to his nasal cavity. So he came up with a solution: Putting it in his butt.
In his new book Rod: The Autobiography, the rocker confesses to doing the dirty act with then-Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood. The Stones' current guitarist had totally blown out his septum, so to compensate he and Rod, well, we'll just let Stewart explain:
"So we started buying anticold capsules from the chemist's, separating the two halves of the capsules, replacing their contents with a pinch of cocaine, and then taking the capsules anally, where, of course, the human body being a wonderful thing, they would dissolve effortlessly into the system."
In a recent interview, Stewart also said, "[What happened to Ronnie] scared him, so then we found another method of taking the drug. We put them in a little pill like the French do them, a suppository."
Despite wanting cocaine so much to do that, Stewart swears he didn't have a problem. "As far as the drugs are concerned, I was never an addict. I was never, you know, in rehab. It never affected my family or my relationships or anything. I was just a social user."
Stewart doesn't just discuss drugs in the new biography: He also talks about almost getting a "plaster caster" of his rock star penis. Check out some more awesome moments from the book over at SPIN while you ponder the idea of someone putting cocaine in their but
