I am just saying that in a country where guns and weapons are completely banned, the violent crime rate is the highest in the world. We are talking even higher than South Africa.

Well whatever fruit you want to call them is 5 times higher in the U.K. than in the U.S.

It is for the same crimes, assault, murder, rape. Like I said, maybe there are more crimes because there is less to fear. I know what you are saying though as well and I get your point.

    address the important points

"tell me the variable that causes a 42/1 homicide ratio from america to england."

    "
let me ask you. if you are penetrating neighbors wife would you prefer a 4/5 chance of being punched in the face or a 1/5 chance the back of your cranium is blown off?"

answer those two questions without being vague and i will change my mind

I was just using South Africa as an example because most people know that it is a country with an extremely bad reputation(statistically proven) to be one of the most violent countries in the world.

I already did, because Weapons are banned. I said it in post #101, but there is a trade off in the increase in overall violent crimes, which is a direct result of criminals having nothing to fear because they know that the people that prey upon have nothing to defend themselves with.

The whole point in not allowing ANYONE but police, army etc to own guns would be that you can finally point at someone who owns one and say: this is a bad guy.
Without research and all this shit, and fukk these "hobbies" that use them.
Some people seem unable to understand that, we are going nowhere until they are finally banned.
The only reason why it's not happening: Money, as always.

You don't solve problems by taking things away from honest people because some nuts can't control themselves. I hate this logic and it applies to so many liberties which are being removed over time.

So let's say all law abiding citizens turn in their firearms for home protection. Then what? Just hope criminals who already were illegally in possession of unlicensed firearms turn theirs in? All you're doing aside from disarming honest people is making a blue collar guy who snaps and wants to shoot up a mall spend his last few dollars on the black market. There will always be people peddling fruit the Government says is forbidden - maybe some assholes stop capping each other over petty shit but there will also be less deaths of home invaders and more rapes and assaults of the people inside the home.

Having guns for "home protection", what kind of sad country do you live in.
Just because you own a gun, nothing bad can happen to you from criminals?
Did you *ever* hear about being in more danger if you are armed, because then they will not by shy shooting at you either.
Honestly it's so dumb, i cannot believe anyone can have the opinion that owning a gun makes him safer.

Crime stats international comparisons are particularly challenging - different definitions, different reporting rates etc etc. Particularly with sexual assault, there are widely varying cultural perceptions of what qualifies. There was an attempt at using single definitions a while back though, the International Crime Victim Survey......

Burglary: US rate has been dropping seriously the last 25 years or so, used to be the worst in the developed world. Comparing with the UK isn't too helpful, because the UK has a huge problem with home burglaries, much higher than the rest of Europe. Most of Western Europe has less than half the burglary rate of the USA.

Robbery (ie theft by force or threat of force): this is where the USA does well, fairly low internationally, similar to France/Germany. UK a lot higher, about double.

Sexual assault: USA one of the worst. Europe varies all over, from about the same rate as the USA (Sweden, unsurprisingly) to 10x less (Spain).

Assault: USA about twice the rate of most of Western Europe, but lower than the UK. The UK figure is pretty easy to explain, in our drinking culture. A lot of it is drunken people fighting after leaving pubs, and the police hovering nearby looking for easy arrests.

Murder: since it tends to leave a body, the stats are easy to compare. USA is 4.2 per 100k population, while most of Western Europe is about 1.0, including the UK.

You could argue USA crime figures would be even higher without that supposed deterrent factor. There does seem to be a correlation between "gun-prevalence" rates and overall murder rates internationally, but what should be a gambler's motto applies: correlation doesn't mean causation. The USA may have high gun ownership because of the crime, not the other way around.

My guess: the USA's gun culture is a unique factor, combined with more severe social problems in many areas than Europe. By and large, nutters in Europe just kill themselves, they don't have this need to strike back at society - ie something that really fractures society and strikes at the heart strings. How do people get that damaged and alienated that this is their response? Pretty depressing.

I'm not sure there's an easy answer, beyond fiddling at the margins with better mental health care, better background checks on gun purchases and so on. Politically anything beyond that will be impossible anyway.

It’s hard to believe another government created false flag to
    end our Second Amendment Rights.

Has anyone noticed that whenever a government planned mass shooting occurs, O' Fraud Makes a nationwide grand appearance dramatically telling the world of
the great tragedy that the poor families are going through because
    of the bad bad guns.

He even flies the flag at half mast, while our soldiers dying overseas to protect oil and drugs don’t even get this attention.

This president is a sly, slick, sick socialist
    shrill. He is pure evil.

    Follow his anti-American pattern.

I'd take my chances with a Glock rather than be unarmed against someone with a weapon of some kind.

So you'd rather just hope the nice gun wielding person breaking in your home has no intent to murder you? You wouldn't at least like to be able to scare them off with a warning round as they break in? This way you also pop the people coming in with a knife or who believe nobody is home.

How many ppl breaking in your home want to shoot you, instead of just robbing you?
So you would prefer jumping out in front of him with a gun, instead of hiding or something?
