Not really back, tho... go long periods of time paying no attention to SBR. Now... I *was* back in 2021 after a long, hellish health battle that almost got me (as you know)... and I was posting regularly when all the sh!t started to hit the fan 'round here (I stayed, didn't abandon the sinking ship, was always gonna stay and continue to post/contribute without needing betpoints, etc.)... BUT, then Spider the mod banned me for 10 days just before Christmas '21 for RIBALDRY in a joke thread bantering with Eddie (my post was funny, ribald, outlandish, entertaining and keeping in line with my and Eddie's bantering). Spider reaching way back for revenge when I publicly called him out for CHEATING in a poker tourney circa ~2012 or so. Pathetic. (I realize Spider has since presumed passed away, a sincere R.I.P., but what he did was big-time BS, petty and vindictive).
Tried to email Admin, Shari, etc... no response whatsoever to right an obvious wrong... radio silence; I'll be damned if I'm gonna continue to contribute to a dying forum when getting royally screwed and getting absolutely nothing in return. Oh wait... did get the disrespectful kick in the nutz... thanks? SBR losing posters all over the place and you get a vengeful mod banning entertaining, contributing posters for personal reasons. Yeah, makes sense....
So, I retired from posting here (still am, except for the occasional chirp). No grand announcement leaving (like others)... just left. I'm not posting on any sports forum, currently. BUT, again, TY Chucky for asking... sorry to be long-winded, but you've always been a forum friend and I thought, maybe, perhaps, you'd be curious to know the reason(s) for my disappearance round here. *When SBR had the poker tables running, you were a frequent topic of discussion.
1) Guys would ask about your health. We knew you had a problem. Could only wonder.
2) If you feel good and are enjoying life, that's the big thing. Hey, if you're up to it, maybe some of the posters could meet up w/ you at your local casino to play some poker.

ps... it does seem like sbr posters wound up being scattered like a huge covey of quail came upon by hunters blasting away at us...... as the hemorrhaging of posters continues, you have to think there is a lot of second-guessing going on among management as to how this could have been handled in a less destructive sense.......Comment -
i agree donk. even if the plan is to create an updated site the whole way it has gone has just alienated so many. like is the site really going to be better off? we can say SBR for life and all these things but i am wondering what is the real end goal when so many are gone.Comment -

Weeder, I think you're on to something maybe with the 1 a day idea, but rather than shipping $1 a day, I think each and everyone of us should channel our inner JJ and make 1 extra unsubstantive post per day to pick up the slack. Just come up with some redundant and repetitive drivel. Make sure it is poorly punctuated, riddled with misspellings, and laden with grammatical errors. Throw in a cliché from time to time for good measure, toss in an off color remark on occasion, and contradict yourself often. At the end of the day, it will be like he never left. There's a little JJ inside all of us.Comment
