#424Sure, we need more people with guns to thwart a gunmen. A dozen officers were standing right outside the door while this freak was killing young kids. They waited over an hour before breaching the door, even kids and a teacher called 911 numerous times pleading for help. Young kids pleading over and over again to send help and some of these bastards were said to say "I'm not going in there, I'm not getting shot". Do you really think an officer is going to risk his or her life to save yours? Well these officers clearly did not. A lot of people are going to be asking why? Why didn't they breach that door an hour ago?Comment -

#425What now? People said if there were armed guards with guns this wouldn't happen. Guess what? The police was outside the school for an hour with guns before going in. And told the fed agents to not go in.
Maybe we should focus on 18 year olds not getting military grade assault weapons without background checks first.
Because having more guns available does not stop the massacres.Comment -

#426Pavy - they were not outside the school... THEY WERE OUTSIDE THE FUKKING DOOR. They were standing directly outside the door while they chief told them to not breach the 2 rooms. Parents outside were pleading to go into the school but the police outside prevented parents from going in to get their own kids. Some parents came back with guns and 2 or 3 of them were arrested. They were pleading for the officers to go in and help. Kids were texting for over an hour to please come help them and the police DID NOTHING. Finally a janitor opened the door with a key and they shot the gunmen... AFTER THE FACT. SICK/SAD!Comment -

an anonymous donor just donated $175k for funeral arrangements. Gov Abbott just said thank you for the help. He just said people are going to offer mental health services for free for any resident of Uvalde. An 800 help line is there if people need it. They can call at anytime 24/7. Their establishing a relief fund like they did for Hurricane Harvey. Their setting up victim assistance center. Every family impacted will be given a victim advocate. Family assistance will help with travel, healthcare, hotel cost. Teachers retirement fund will help give families child care and assistance.
You do all this shit AFTER the fukkking fact?Comment -

most police wont risk themselves for strangers because most are not actually heroes. but if the police were in the teachers places then of course they would try to stop the guy because they would be killed otherwise.
there was a woman who just stopped a guy shooting up a party with a ar-15 style weapon.

#430i think that bringing guns into school is not the answer because most teachers are not the type to be able to defend themselves. but if teachers were armed and able then in this shooting then they would have probably been able to stop this guy since they had plenty of warning before he entered the school.

#431It's impossible for the teacher to kill the shooter with a handgun. The shooter goes in there with tactical gear a kevlar vest and two assault weapons that fire 20 rounds in 3 seconds. Most teachers will not be able to aim for the head with a handgun under enormous stress.
It's a lot to ask for a mother of children than has no police shooting training in hostage situations.
but if teachers were capable, like the woman in the story above, you could give them rifles which will penetrate kevlar. i think the gun would need to be locked anyways to prevent kids from getting it from the teacher. a quick biometric lock and the teachers could have leaned out their doors into the hall and shot at him from behind cover when he entered the hallways.
ultimately all rights come with drawbacks. if someone is willing to give up their life then they are going to be able to kill a bunch of ppl if they are somewhat competent. school shootings dont really kill that many ppl. you are talking about tens of ppl a year. driving to school much more likely to kill you.Last edited by fried cheese; 05-27-22, 04:59 PM.Comment -

#432Arming teachers is a ridiculous solution that ignores the problem. A gun in every classroom to prevent gun violence crimes is the definition of insanity
All it takes is someone to walk in a classroom and shoot, teachers dead. Now what? Blame the teacher for not keeping their gun loaded, safety off and pointed in the direction of the door 8 hours a day?
Until Americans wake and realize a society full of mentally ill people with guns is an existential issue, and limiting access to guns is a much more reasonable approach than "fixing" mentally ill people, these shootings will continue to happen.Comment -

#433The problem with having teachers with guns is that now students have easy access to those weapons. Do you know easy it would be for a student to hit Ms RottenCrotch in the head, get her gun and shoot the entire class? Now these kids don’t even have to sneak a gun inside. Bad idea.
Schools have to be smarter. Clear transparent backpacks, smart cards that monitor student flow in the building. Video surveillance a block away from the school. Auto Locked doors, hallways that can be locked down with a switch. Each class with 2 doors for exit and easy locks. Teachers should have a Kevlar shield they can rush a shooter with and armed with a neurotoxin they can spray on the perp to incapacitate him. Okay that might need some tweaking but you get my point. No exterior doors should ever be propped open. A handful of smart security can properly monitor a school if done correctly.Comment -

Its a a great example of why armed guards are not the solution. They fukked up in this situation, the fukked up in Parkland and they'll fukk up the next one too. Its an easy paycheck but they dont prevent shit
Let any school in the US implement whatever measures they would like, and I will fly out on their dime and expose all their measures as a false sense of security. Theres not a school in America that cannot be breached by someone looking to commit this type of crime. Its all for show

#435I totally agree on the supply problem. Too many guns in this country. Too easy for those guns to end up in the wrong hands. But until we change the easy access to these guns, we need to do more to minimize the damage. First we need to be more vigilant with social media. This guy had red flags everywhere. Why the hell did people not come forward? His family knew he was a nut. His sister wouldn't buy him a gun. There needs to be a whistleblower hotline where you can list people who might go rogue. This guy told a group chat he was getting a gun. One of the people asked him if he was going to shoot up a school. How does the person not report that? He texted 2 girls that he was going to shoot his grandmother, then told them that he shot her and that he was about to shoot up a school. How the hell did they not tell someone? Kids know other kids that are nut cases. See something, say something.Comment -

Dam false flag 300. Total bullshit and garbage playing on the "feelings" of people.
Its a long-term plan to remove the guns. You have to get people so worried there kid will be next to eventually surrender their gun rights over. Once they get the guns, they can do whatever they want to your sorry asses. 1,000 vaccines a week. Insects as your only food source.
Yes, the people that rule you........have plans for you and they are not nice and beautiful.
Think about it! What other method is better to gun grab then to make people think there kids will get mowed down from a school shooting if they don't take those rifles away? There is no better method. They are using the "child" card as their weapon. I won't go into if this was a "crisis" actor event or not.

Just more bullshit for the retarded masses to take in and get stupid and emotional about. And worry about guns more..........

Now... if all students knew teachers were armed with a gun... could it detour issues??? I would say yes. It's definitely a "game changer". But again... 1 wrong move by a teacher.... shooting an innocent person.... parents would be in a MAJOR UPROAR.
This seems to be a situation in which.... it will never be changed. And if someone does FORCE THE ISSUE and make changes... it will lead to other problems. Far worse than what's going on.
How do you stop a nut with a gun??? You can't. That's why there's a police force.... to respond to the situation. They can't be everywhere 24 hours a day.Comment -

#445I 100% agree that arming teachers isn't the answer. Just think about it.... a teacher knows they have their gun handy.... a student might get into an altercation over a tardy... or math test... and then BOOM the teacher just shoots the kid. lol Yeah... it just opens up the door to "other" things. Furthermore, if a teacher did have a weapon... I don't see ALL teachers having extensive training or shooting experience. If something went down.... it could be a new episode of Reno 911.... arming teachers definitely isn't the answer.

Did the Feds stop local police from interfering with this atrocity ?

But one cop who was on the scene told the Post that Arrendondo was wrongly blamed.
