    I guess the lesson is that, people consume alot more music globally now and comparing these numbers is like comparing Bond's HR records to pre babe-ruth HR king..... Home Run Baker's records....

    its just alot easier now in some ways

    To be fair, there were about half as many people on the planet when the Beatles and Hendrix were making records.

    A hip-hop "artist" could say the word "shawty" every 5 to 10 seconds while playing any Led Zeppelin or Beatles song and most people under the age of 30 would think it's a brand new song and it's brilliant.

    I can see it now... "Shawty be Buying the Stairway to Heaven" becomes most popular song of all time.
