They are not really closed, you just can’t drink inside of them. You can go in and order as many drinks as you want to go in a sealed cup and drink them off property.

Most where I’m at play the 51% food sales and 49% liquor sale game and then they can stay open. The only two I know of that actually closed are both strip clubs and technically they can stay open just not serve booze the whole thing in Florida is just a joke and about tax revenue

Florida with these issues and DeSantis inability to get this under control are looking at 6 months plus of dealing with this. Even if they closed the State today, it would take 6 months to flat line the state. Texas as well.. The Wing Nuts here on SBR saying Covid will be gone by election day are totally delusional. The Red State Governors have NO idea how to deal with it and Douchebag Don has zero interest in helping them. Douchebag being without empathy has no concerns whether Americans live or die. With him its all about the election. We're in the middle of a National Health Disaster and people don't see it.

Although at this trajectory we may reach herd immunity by November, if we get immunity from infection - hard to say at this point. If that happens we're looking at 500k dead. I expect we will be back to 1,500-2,000 dead by per day by the week of July 13.

Unless a state permanently stays shut down, there will be an increase in cases once it opens back up fully. We can argue who is doing better or worse but it really doesn’t matter. This isn’t a contest. Nobody should be taking a victory lap now and that’s including anyone in Europe. The US needs to take things like wearing a mask seriously or this is going to be a longer year than it already is.

The protests have some influence on spread but they pale in comparison to the day to day activity of normal life. You reopen and physical/social distancing and mitigation factors like mask wearing and hand washing start strong at first but erode over time. Without anyone enforcing them, it just amounts to a finger wag by the state or local government
