For our running comparison of Sweden ("keep economy wide open") and its neighbors ("try to save everyone), it's better to use totals from the last four days because of how Sweden reports. It just went 16-10-90-85, similar to what we've seen through other weekends...
...total deaths the last four days: Sweden 201, Denmark 43, Finland 28, Norway 5. Sweden is about twice as big as each individual neighbor, but the sum of the neighbors is about 1.7 times larger than Sweden. Only 76 deaths for the larger composite, 201 for Sweden.

Fact of the matter is we have to make the tough decisions and choose a route.

If we think a vaccine is possible in the next few months, which is unlikely, we hunker down and wait.

If not, we are likely to adapt a similar model as Sweden. Protect the vulnerable as best we can and restart the economy.

Trump can't bring back the economy. Neither can the House, the Senate, the Secretary of the Treasury or any task force. When the American people are ready, they'll being back the economy; unfortunately, that's not on the horizon anytime soon.

Some of this is basic math. We've tested about 3 percent of the American public. No one's going anywhere when you realize that, from 97 out of every 100 people you see, any one of themmight be the one to put you in the ICU.
