My dad deals in tin and windup toys on the side, especially pre-50s, and he definitely makes money in them. I remember once he picked up a tin windup Dino the Dinosaur (the flintstones) for $25 at a garage sale, and flipped it for $700 same day. Barbie Dolls are also a big selling items (again, pre-50s era).

It's definitely only the older 'toys' that are worth money.
