It's Nice to Know Obama Still Has Time for the Really Important Issues

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...-riot-verdict/

The White House talks Pusssy Riot.

At his daily briefing, Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the administration is “disappointed by the verdict, including the disproportionate sentences that were granted. While we understand the group’s behavior was offensive to some, we have serious concerns about the way that these young women have been treated by the Russian judicial system.”

you are kidding right? you cant be this dense

    this is a serious issue

these guys are going to spend 5 years in jail for doing exactly what you are doing in this thread, voicing their dissatisfaction with their country's president, oh the irony

you remind me why I hate people so much, because people are morons

if anything this announcement is too mild, the US is tip toeing around the issue, trying to appear on the side of freedom speech but at the same time not aggitating a super power and business partner

Maybe the Kenyan should be more concerned about Russia's dealings with Iran than how criminals are treated. How many people in this country are serving LONG prison sentences for bullshit drug charges?

in whatever country this happened, every single person should be angered by it, because you might think that this does not affect you, but it will soon enough

freedom of speech is suffering around the world and in the USA as well, and with all this new legistlation ala patriot act, there will come a day when us citizens will be arrested for speaking up against the government

the government already has the power, they can legaly listen to your phone conversations, they can read your mail, they can detain you without evidence or a trial

you need a permit to protest for fks sake, you cant protest at political rallies, it has already started
