I know that really sucked that we got hit like that . I did not even realize that it was that bad an offense when we did it it i just thought i was helping you out by signing up . Oh well at least that is done.Yes we had a good time but we did have some problems. But it is nice to be back . WE are back a week and going out for 4 nights with our Mommies in Vegas next week again.It was our 10 year anniversary back on the 3rd we figured lets take our moms there where we got married 10 years ago for a few days. Both our Dads have since passed away since (A year apart)so we figured this will be nice.

Lol i only complain about losing all my points in the casino i need to stay out of there. Who had the lock of the week ? $100000000 is pretty good he can now buy a space shuttle anf fly around since NASA does not use them anymore. Believe it or not the Olympics were EVERYWHERE on TV there. TV sucked but i guess being in Europe itself and them hosting we got to watch it. In German .

I wish i could tell you our trip was perfect for our 10 year anniversary. Last 2 years we have had problems. Once we almost collided with another plane on a runway and the other year we had to make an emergency landing in LA and had all the fire trucks waiting for us on the runway.

This time it was not that bad with the aircraft itself . We were going to Maria Alm which is in Austria . We landed in Salzberg and the guy drove us an hour there. Originally we were supposed to go Canadian Air to Toronto ,then another 2 flights on Austrian Air. I also paid extra for Business Class. Austrian Air has its own on board Chef which sounded cool . I planned this trip and booked the flight back like 6 months ago.

The plane comes in to Philly Airport. It was supposed to leave at 10 Am . Then a few minutes before they announce there is a delay because of mechanical problems. We wait until it gets cancelled at 12.30 . Then they tell us all that we have to rebook the flight ourselves.So an entire plane is calling the same number at the same time.By the time i get through it was an hour. They rebooked us on Lufthansa . Then i had to wait in line for another hour to get to the 2 people at the desk to redo our luggage and re-verify our flights. It was total insanity. They were getting peoples stuff mixed up and everyone was screaming. The next flights people were coming in now too and their flight was delayed so they were all trying to butt in front of all of us that were already waiting for hours. The one lady behind the desk actually broke down at one point and said 'I cant take this anymore". The problem was they had no clue what they were doing. They were sending people to other airlines then they would come back an hour later saying the place they sent them was wrong.

Finally they take care of the luggage,and we go to the other side of the Airport to Lufthansa. We get there and Lufthansa tells us we are on Stand BY and may not get a flight. This of course was not what we were told. They gave us a # to give them if they gave us trouble. They would not call it because they were too busy.Luckily we got on that flight. I wanted a window seat we did not get it but at least we sat next to each other.

The flight itself on Lufthansa was AWESOME. If you can do business class i would recommend it. Real food ,a chair that folds all the way out,built in-massager,free alcohol,free Movies(We watched Sherlock Homes 2)awesome experience. Even the last flight that was an hour long gave us food which shocked us.

Then we get to Salzburg. The guy waws waiting to take us to Maria Alm. He did not talk a word of English. Our luggage never came off. It was missing almost 4 days before we got it so that was a HUGE inconvenience. The room was not the greatest but the view was beyond spectacular. The beds were like low to the ground. THere was not even a clock. And we had a small kitchenette it was not even a real kitchen. But the view of the Alp Mountain was the redeeming grace.Whenever i was pissed our stuff was missing i would go out there and look at the mountain and throw stuff at the people below. They all spoke German anyway so i did not understand them.

We wanted to do a tour in Munich and a tour in Venice . That way we get to see Germany and Italy. The tour place was the worst i have ever seen. They would not go unless they could get 6 people . When i contacted the hotel months before they told me they do tours there all the time because it is the summer and everyone wants to go. They lied. We wanted to do 4 tours they did not do one single one.

We did get to Germany though by train. Cost like 200 euros which is almost $300 US. Scenery was nice train was nice,however we kept having to move because we did not have assigned seats and kept sitting in reserved seats. Problem was every single seat had reserved on it.Munich was nice. We saw the Concentration camp which gives you a very humble feeling being where so many were tortured and killed. We also got to try sausage and pretzels. I do not drink beer but my wife liked it. The place we ate was insane soooo many people and you end up sitting with people you do not know. Food was good though. Food overall there was very good in Austria and Munich. A lot of it was in German but sometimes they had it in English underneath.

We never got to Venice . They said they were going and cancelled on us 2xs. We did get to Salzburg which was where the Sound of Music was filmed and saw different stuff from the movie. My wife liked it but if a film does not have explosions and gunfights or Aliens i will not like it. If they had those in it i would have watched it.

The 2nd week we pretty much just went into Maria Alm. Since they cancelled on us 2xs they messed up our 2nd week. We did take a lift there and up on the mountain found a little shack with a great view that served food. We got some fries and just took in the view.

My Mom sent us a crapload of stuff the day before our anniversary. She worked with Anna Marie who was the one person we really liked at the desk. They as we had breakfast downstairs put a plate of bread, huge bowl of Choc Covered Strawberries,plate of cheeses,tons of fruit,candies,and a bottle of Champagne and Schnapps and mustard spread . BTW they specialize in schnapps there. That was nice.

Tv sucked there but the Olympics was on even though in German you can tell what was going on. There was this one show that i could not stop watching. It was like passing a car wreck and you have to look. It was a white background all the time. So the budget for the show must have been like $1 . This thing that talked in German just ran around screaming .IDK what it was still but it looked like a brick with a mouth and big floppy hands and little feet.It was the stupidest thing ever yet i felt bonded to it. I would take some of my moms food and sit outside looking at the mountain and just picture myself and Brick Creature running through the mountain in the clouds just screaming at everything.

The flight home was finally on Austrian Airlines. Problems with tickets going home again and they sent us to the wrong place for our luggage. We wasted an hour there. Customs was a nightmare in Toronto. But the Flight was nice. Food was made by the onboard Chef and it was all Gourmet. They even had cold potato soup which was good. Never had soup cold before. Cheeses , fresh hot bread, gourmet coffee drinks like out of a starbucks ,mashed potatoes and veal that was amazing ,all was really good. The movies were weird though. You do not control them they just play on different channels non-stop. So i watched John Carter from the middle to the end then had to watch from the beginning to the middle to watch the whole thing.They were very attentive even giving you heated clothes to wash with. The bigger flights even had a care kit with lotsa goodies in it to take with you.

We are going a few days to vegas next week with our moms. I will be making a nice size bet since i saved cash from not going to Venice. Probably $3000-$4000 .Were staying at the Polo Towers. Looking forward to it plus our Moms do not know i got us all 1st Class .
